I've had amazing experiences with Icon. I've run a couple of different versions of their shocks and only once had an issue. They warrantied the shock without blinking and had a very quick turn around to limit my down time.

I wouldn't use the same installer either because apparently he doesn't know what he was doing. That is an easy catch and he probably has the right tool in his shop to notch it and just ignored it.

I would call Icon and ask for a manager. Just because some dick sales guy told you to pound sand doesn't mean a thing. For all you know he found his wife sleeping with the mailman and took it out on you. Icon has a pretty good name I would call again.

Hey OP, I got "we don't normally warranty this issue but we can do it for you this time." - when my top hat cracked on my icon coilovers. Sorry dude that sucks.

I wonder if people having these issues with leaky shocks is connected to Icon not servicing shocks anymore...

I had good experiences with them when I got my coilovers rebuilt by them last summer. They gave me all new bearings and top hats for free and they weren't even busted.

I have the same shocks OP has and when I installed them I noticed the proximity too but was able to twist the shock to gain proper clearance.

For the record their new top hat design is on par with Kings and Icons ride wayyy nicer on the highway or fast off-road

I already posted that pic in here. :p I'm keeping my Icon stuff because it works well for the way I use my truck and that is the first failure I've experienced.

I don't think I installed mine right but haven't had any problems luckily...
Should I be concerned? Im not the most knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles, I just watch DIYs on youtube.
Here is my rear shocks w/reservoirs...

Did you notch your upper shock mount? Sure looks like it.

They don't have a new top hat design...it's the same one they have been using since Icon. The old top hat design was way better with Donahue
