TIRE Help - What's The Best Aggressive AT C Load Range 265/75/16?

They're retreads but if you search the forums you'll see really good feedback on them.

 

Hard to find lately

 

They did a great job on them but I'm probably steering clear of retreads. When I upgrade it has to be for a noticeably more aggressive tire, maybe even a hybrid, because the truck is new and I don't want to lateral over to something like I have. Right now it's looking like Duratrac or Falken but I would like to see that Toyo as well. Still wish Cooper would spit out some new ST Maxx in my size... This has been a great thread and has brought to light (again) the need for more variety in these sizes.

 

Here are some better pics, they still look better in person. I have the tire mounted with the most aggressive sidewall on front of rim. The pic of the back of the wheel shows the 2nd less aggressive sidewall (Falken and Wildpeak AT lettering are less prominent). @The Real Moondog

A P265/75/16 is rated for more weight than a C rated LT tire and exactly the same as a D rated tire, you don't really get a tougher tire until you get into E rated tires.. You MIGHT get a little tougher sidewall, but on a Tacoma I'd save $100 and buy the P series Cooper AT/3's. In fact 3.5 years and 50,000 miles ago I did. I might get another 10K out of them. Never had any issues. The LT's wouldn't have done anything the P's haven't done on a truck this light.

 

Maxxis also builds a quality tire. They have a pretty good looking all terrain that comes in a 8ply...

Also, Multi Mile XTX sport is a good tire that has excellent grip in a 6 ply...

I had this tire on my second gen and it is really an overachiever in my book. It cleans out mud really well but I would like a bit more aggressive tire and sidewall. Either way this is on the list but I'm leaning Duratrac and Falken. I see a Maxxis link to check out too! EVERYONE in this forum has been so much help. Can't wait to start getting some advice on mods. I don't plan on too much but do want to do a few things and this is a great start. Even though I've been around a while I'm new to the world of mods so this is going to be fun.

 

My 265/70/17 ko2 c rates tires haven't failed me yet on rocks, dirt, and a little mud. Great road manners.

 

Thanks for the quick response. Down to Duratracs in C load or Falkens in P or C now. I'll have to look at them in person; I think that will be the final factor.

 

I have not seen a c rated KO2 in 265/75/16 yet but like that tire too. I'm not sure they make it in the size I'm after.

Although those are 285/70/r17, seems like someone pointed out they are available in the size you are looking for.

 

I haven't seen a Multi Mile tire since I was a young kid with two of them on the back of my old 70 model Ford! They have come a long ways because the tire you linked to looks really nice. I'm still thin

OK, even though the Grabber X3 may be a bit more aggressive than I was looking for it is offered in a C in the size I need so I have to give this a look. This is a nice looking tire and at 49 pounds that's not too bad at all.

I've put E-metric tires on my light trucks in the past with poor results. Good way to kill power, ride quality and fuel economy on a daily driven truck.

The factory tire size on my Frontier Pro-4x is P265/75R16, Currently running Hankook Dynapro ATMs with zero issues. Great tires!

 

For me, I totally agree. I just don't need an E. I know that there are many on here that likely do but I'm not one of them. I do think it is great that so many have been willing to step up and take out time to make recommendations. Lots of really good info being posted and I'm sure more to come.

 

Has Sween224 considered a 255/75r17? They're roughly a 32x10.5 maybe just a bit smaller. I'm not sure why, but every tire manufacturer out there seems to make this size in a C load rating. There's even a few P rated ones.

My C rated KO2s have been super reliable and have taken so much abuse. I commute 120 miles a day for work, and these have been great for minimizing road noise, snow and ice traction, and off road durability. Gonna pick up a second set whenever the time comes.
