Thanks man! The two shafts are actually still together, just wasn't sure if there is a specific way it goes on the truck. I guess at that point it can only go on two ways so if it feels horrible one way I can just flip it?

Belly skid looks good! What are you using for a crossmember? The ruff stuff mount?

Building one out of 1.5 x 1.5 tube. welding a piece of angle to the inside of the frame. Then bolting the cross member to that.

I was going to go to work yesterday and use the drill press to drill some holes and make life easier but I put the Subaru in the ditch at the top of the driveway. Went to turn around because I forgot my wallet and backed right into the drainage. After sliding the whole way back down the driveway I decided it was best to just park it. Wish I would have taken a picture. I was impressed I was able to get it out on its own power. I might need to consider making a skid for that! Lol

My only complaint about that car is how gutless its bottom end is. The other day I couldn't get it up my driveway because it was to cold and just wanted to die going up the hill.

Backcountry Navigation just added forest service roads as an over lay and color coded them.

Well @alee891 and I decided it was finally time so make some skids!

    Crossmember all welded up

Austin grinding something on the ghetto fab table/trailer

Used an existing bolt for the mid section to mount to. Had to grind the little lip off the factory crossmember.
Getting sick of cutting 3/4 of the way though for the whiskey bends

All welded up. Time for some cleanup and paint.
Austin had frame plates to weld up and a job to get back to so his will hopefully be finished this weekend...

That has got to be a difference between auto and manual. Drove with the aussie front on Rt.15 from Harrisburg to my house pulling the expo trailer with snow all over the road. Never had an issue pulling left or right.

Hmm. Interesting I feel better driving it in 2wd or locked in the snow because of it being such a difference. So you didn't experience any pull one way or the other? Like hands off the wheel and it went straight? I wouldn't mind it so much if it was just a constant pull to one side but once the clutch pedal goes in or even letting off the gas it jerks the opposite direction.

Yeah thats what I mean, front ADD engaged with 4wd HI, rear axle unlocked.
All that I read online directly describes what you are mentioning. For some reason the autos dont show anywhere near the same effects.
Granted you can (feel) the front pull forward, but when letting off the gas or in a turn, it definitley doesnt jerk in one direction.

It's not nearly as bad when ADD is engaged but when it's only the driverside getting power it's pretty bad.

I usually don't lock the front when driving on the road since everyone says how horrible it is to steer. I think I drove to work with it on one day on packed snow and didn't have any issue though. Then I started driving the Subaru so my research ended lol.

Finally replaced my custom high flow muffler with a flowmaster 50 series. So no more 4 wheeler noises like @alee891 likes to say. At least I hope not. I only turned the truck on and let it idle for a bit since my dash is pulled apart and fender is off.

I still might have to do some tweaking to avoid my new xmember from hitting the cat and the tailpipe hitting the leaf spring.

Crossmember finally installed. Added some rubber conveyer carpet in between the rear mount to maybe help soften a hit.

    Mid mount

Attempted to install my antenna here but there wasn't enough room inside for the straight coax cable to fit and the antenna stay straight. I think I ruined the cable at least I hope I did. I couldn't get my swr any where close. 90* fittings are on the way and a new coax I hope that is my issue.

I hadn't intended for that piece to break off. I had it pretty neatly trimmed with a step bit using it like a dremel...

Should I add a ground wire from the base to the factory ground near the battery?

    Never enough
A firestik fire ring cable would work perfectly in that scenario. I was in the same boat as you when I first installed my CB. Ruined a cable by trying to make it bend tighter than it should. New cable allowed the SWR to tune below 1.5:1 on all channels.

I wish I would have known about this! It is exactly what I need. I'm hoping there will be enough room for the 90* connector but if not I know that that will work! Thanks man!

New muffler sounds good. I can actually hear the soft song of my tires now... It feels like I've gained some low end power back but it could just be because I've been driving the wrx around which has nothing in the low end.

I will do another run when I install the LCE header to compare.
