The tacoma got bigger in 2005.... same size since but yes, they gotta make vehicles that fit their increasingly bigger (fat) buyers :)

Same situation here; but I'm mostly waiting for what Nissan and Ford come up with before buying a Tacoma. 2018-2020 will be exciting times in the midsize truck area.

No rush for me. I can wait :)

I do think Toyota is holding back a few goodies until after the new Ranger comes out.

I understand the safety equipment is probably required by some facet of the government, but this safety nonsense is out of control!

So, vehicles are becoming "safer", but the price of my insurance damned sure doesn't seem to be dropping. And, the cost of all this safety garbage is passed on directly to the consumer.

Facelift on body, but not interior.. did the 2nd Gen not keep the outdated look from 2006-2015 on the interior?

All trim levels (Sport, OR, Pro) use a regular key in the manual transmission. Keyless start not an option with MT's

^ This. I'm hoping Nissan and Ford kicks Toyota in the a$$ forcing them to make more significant changes instead of just resting on their laurels.

Yes for the most part - biggest change is that the 2012-2015's added the touch screen radio

The PBS (push button start) works on a timer so when depressed it engages the starter for a set period of time, I don't know what the actual time is. Unfortunately you lose control with the clutch cancel button, you would start crawling with no way to stop until the timer runs out. The manual key allows more control of your starter when using in combination with the clutch cancel button.

Nope, it changed as well slightly over the years, little things each year as I mentioned. They changed carpets/dash plastic (color), tach background changed, illumination lights changed color, compass was deleted added to self dimming mirror along with back up camera in mirror, backup camera moved to updated headunit, etc. Jump seats changed in accesscab models I believe in 12 as well, deleted the cubby at some point, etc. I had an 08, 11, and 15.

It still looked very outdated for the 2015 model. Even the 2016 T4R interior is very outdated compared to our interior.

Okay? No one said it wasn't, but the point is Toyota makes small changes over the lifespan, not drastic ones all at once in short periods and yes the 2nd gens interior changed little by little even if it felt outdated (most older Toyota platforms do at the end of their cycle) in 2016.

Most of the things they changed very minor. Like the colour schemes. Head unit etc. The 4Runner needs to be updated too.

Welcome to Toyota fellas. This is also why Toyota's keep higher resale value and QDR, you don't want constant changes, hurts value and not good for keeping reliability. Expect small content changes over the next handful of years and a mid cycle facelift/refresh later down the road.

They still could make more changes especially on vehicles that aren't changed over 10 years. Look at the Seqouia. It hasn't changed since 2007. A few changes over the years would help sell more of those.
