That's a good idea maybe I'll grab one from from work when it comes in. Have any of you tried to put that luxury mattress from tepui into one of the CVT tents?

If there was problems with your ladder, then yes we would have sent you a new one. If the rubber feet were falling off there is a simple fix, or if it was something else causing that to happen, the ladder would have been replaced. You also said you had to strap part of your tent down for the ladder not to move. That tells me two things, either there was a legitimate problem with your ladder (which we could have taken care of with a replacement), or that you were not setting the ladder correctly. If the telescoping ladder is set correctly, it doesn't move, especially to where you'd need to strap part of the tent down.

In either case, a simple phone call or message to me, or anyone else at the Tepui shop could have helped you resolve that issue. What's done is done, and you've moved on which is fine. But for others reading this thread, please know that Tepui takes customer service seriously as well as the quality of their products. For a customer to complain about quality or parts not working correctly, it seems logical to think the customer would contact the company and question the issues. Whether it's Tepui or any other company, there is no way to know of issues and be able to fix them unless we hear from you as a customer.

Tepui continues to be the leader in the RTT market for a reason, and quality is a key factor in that. If you have a Tepui tent and ever have any questions or issues with quality or parts not working correctly, please contact us and I can assure you that we'll do everything possible to get it resolved.

    You're trying too hard....

You encouraged me to continue to post similarity and differences between the two tents, along with my experience and opinions of the two...and I agreed that when someone is dropping a grand or two on a tent, they should hear from those who experienced both. Am I saying ALL Tepui's are flawed? Nope. Plenty of people have them and are happy with them. Was mine flawed or merely had features I didn't care for in comparison to what I purchased from CVT? Probably some from column A and some from column B....

And to the rest of the masses, I am a consumer...posting based upon my first hand experiences. I couldn't care less who y'all buy an expensive tent from, as long as you are happy. I was extremely happy with buying from @Cascadia Tents and the rest of his crew. But as people continue to ask questions on a forum, I'll answer them...

you should get with @wheel.every.weekend at IG and help him with his tent issues. He's had more issues with his tent than you can shake a stick at, and he's only had it for 6 months. Spent a good portion of night #2 fixing on of the issues this past weekend.

I have not. I did get my anti-condensation mat from CVT and it fits well. But not sure about the actual luxury mat though. Might be different since it would be a tighter fit I'm assuming. You can always ask Tepui Customer Service for their advice. There's temperpedic options on Amazon you can research too. Just cut to fit if you want but haven't tried or heard any feedback on that.

I swear, this thread is turning in the the King vs. Fox. vs. Icon thread. Seriously, its the same shit, pick your color. Wait for a GB from any of the retailers and get yourself an RTT/shock brand.

Agreed. I've had both Tepui and CVT. They are both great and provide great service.

    And Icon for the win!

Touche! I think both products are great! Just wish they weren't so damn expensive... But love my RTT!

I decided to make the jump from ordering a Tepui Ayer to a Kukenam in the next couple days. I was curious though, should I mount it with the ladder coming down on the drivers or passenger side? And pros/cons to each option?

Ok is there any special kind of temperpedic mattress i should be looking for or just a regular cut to size should be good. But I'll call Tepui and see what they say when I get my tent in.

Nope. I have mine coming down the driver side (spend more time that side) plus when I get a swingout it'll be on the passenger side (thus opening up facing driver so I don't have to run around it to get to my tent) and when packed up the ladder sits on the passenger side to help the taco lean. (every little bit counts)

Not sure if there's any pros or cons. Just preference I believe. I got mine coming off the passenger's side only because my wife wanted it so. Let us know if you find any pros/cons to either side. Think only big difference would be if it came off the back?

Got mine on the drivers side because it happened to be that way when I mounted it this time. If it gets mounted to the other side next time then so be it.

Don't know since I just went with the luxury one. Assuming a high rated one would be good? I was close to going with a queen sized temperpedic one on Amazon since it was closest to size in compassion to my 3 person tent mattress. Was going to 'cut to fit' the middle indent and whatever else. I must say I was happy to just go with the luxury one from Tepui. Exact fit and feels great!

That's awesome to hear me and the wife might take the chance and try to get the luxury to fit in there and I'll let you guys know how it fits in a CVT.

In the Amazon links below, there are foam mattress toppers that other TW members put on top of the existing RTT mattresses and said its a game changer. That's what i'm trying this summer....i mean why not at half the cost of the luxury mattress.

I didn't even think about that to be honest. I assume you just get one closest to the size and cut to trim right? And how thick am assuming like 2in or so
