TRD Seats VS. SR5 Seats

Right now I have the SR5 seats and for long drives my back really starts bugging me. What I want to know is there much of a difference between the two seats and if it's worth it to upgrade.

 

I sat in both the TRD seats are way more conformable, but if i were going to go through the transplant process it probably wouldn't be too much more to get some like really nice seats instead of the TRD. Like they are good but not the best.

You can get them cheaper but $399 each and 99 (I think) for each seat track. Plus seat heaters and lumbar. I was going to find some others like out of another car but I just didn't want to wait!

 

Yeah my dad gave me the idea when he told me about switching seats in his old Beamer

 

That's what I use for work and every time I would get in the truck the seats really irked me! That's cured now.

 

Those look pretty good, would look even better if the wet okole armrest cover was on properly

 

I like my SR5 seats better. I don't know what it is, body type or whatever, but they suit my back perfectly. I had lower back surgery in 2005, I still have some soreness here and there, and I did a 14 hour drive Dec 19/20 through that freaking blizzard and I had no problems at all. I've driven/sat in TRD's a few times, just doesn't feel the same to me.

 

NooB question-

I have a TRD/SR5 what is the difference between the packages?

 

SR5 is basically an interior option package including things like power windows, power mirrors, leather steering wheel and shifter knob, and a couple other things. TRD has some interior option upgrades beyond that (seats, for example) plus some exterior items such as Bilstein shocks and alloy wheels that differ between Sport and Off Road models. Check out the Toyota website for more specific info.

 

I love my Sport seats... That being said, I've only ridden in an SR5 twice, and that was a while back.

 

Love my sport seats as well. Very comfy

 

I've only sat in the seats of my sr5,but the back seats really SUCK!! for long drives,ask my friends.

I'm very happy wiith my TRD seats but I really don't know anything about the SR5 seats.

 

I am OK with my SR5 seats!!!

 

I have both trucks and find the TRD seats a little more comfortable. For me, I like how the side wings of the TRD sport seats wrap around and feel more secure. Both seats seem a little short on length on the seat cushion.
It's all subjective though and to each his own. My friend is fairly heavy and doesn't like his TRD seats because they wrap around more and press in on his sides. It's all in what feels good to you.

 

I've only sat in the TRD seats once and it's a lot more of a tighter fit but the SR5's seem too soft for me

 

I agree- they are a tighter fit, so that may not suit some people. The other thing I forgot to mention is that they seem to sit a little low.
