Ok we might go early then. I can always let my dad drive my truck if I'm still groggy. @Geremy are you good with being in Weatherford by 3am?

Ok cool. I wasn't sure if you were staying in Abilene Wed night. The plan is the Pilot station off I20 just west of Weatherford.

I am looking at sites... I should probably add an itinerary for the trip. There are a couple places that i have been checking out that appear to be large enough, have spots right next to each other, or have long entrance drives that we maybe able to park trucks on to save room in the camping spot. I have been talking about it and have posted a few pics but i will try to add something to the front page.

    upload_2017-3-29_10-17-17.jpg
Let me know if this is not accurate and i will update it.

    Texas Wok = "twok"

This one looks bad ass though! It looks like it can be packed down pretty small. May even fit in the cheap home depot 17gal storage bins....

That or a set of 2 way walkies.... Make sure you look at the antenna cable, some require the tips to be soldered on, and they need to be tuned.
@thedrewsifer will be re-tuning mine in big bend.
Also as an FYI to everyone... apparently you can damage your CB by trying to transmit without a good connection to the antenna.
    DAMN!!!!

So are the DFW people going to try and meet up with us?

I think right now myself and @jorasanu10 are going to do the Abilene thing.

Was there someone else that was interested?

Yes it looks like the plan is to meet up with you. If we leave right at 3am, we should make it to Abilene by 5am. Are you going south from the state park through San Angelo or coming back North to hit I20? May take us a few extra minutes to meet you at the State Park, but if you're going to I20, we can meet you somewhere right of the interstate right at 5.

Need to see which way is faster or what would be the better route to take.

From Weatherford it was within 30 minutes either way. Through San Angelo was shorter distance, but took longer. Probably more 2 lane highway slowing down through towns. Either way you end up in Fort Stockton and take that south to BB.

Yea, not much difference in 20 or the San Angelo way, about a 10 minute difference according to Google Maps.

Will do the 20 route then just to save time and gas on the interstate. Will go up to Sweetwater to get on 20 then.

I am thinking our Grocery stop is going to be Fort Stockton more than likely.

There's a Love's Truck Stop off 20 in Sweetwater. Google maps says it's about an hour from Abilene State Park to the Love's and 2hr18min from Weatherford to Love's. Would 5:30am in Sweetwater work for you? Then it's 3 hrs to Ft Stockton, stop for groceries and gas and then another 1.5hrs to the park. I'm guessing we'll be there by 10:30-11?

That should work possibly. Main goal is to get to BBNP before Noon, closer to 11am though.

That gives about a 30 minute stop in Fort Stockton for provisions, and then gas on the way and such.

Here is a list of large campsites that i have found that are large enough or close enough together that we can all fit....
    *
    Grapevine Hills #4&5
This one has a long entry that we can park trucks along, or we may even be able to block off the road and prevent people from driving through our camp.

These are kinda far apart but maybe we can just use the sites for parking and party in the middle!

This is a place that has a long entry, so we can probably park trucks along the road or block it off to make room for tents. This one is also pretty close to the Marical Canyon Rim Trail, which i have posted pictures from earlier. I think if we camp here then we can hike this trail in the evening or morning.
*this is also very close to the Rio, campsites closer to the river tend to have a warmer climate than other camp sites in the park.

This is one that @thedrewsifer said was pretty large so i am thinking we can fit all 7 trucks in this spot.
    Drew can you confirm this?

    * Still working on the list, more possible places to camp coming. If you have any suggestions on large/cool camping spots let me know!

    Way to much...but not enough.

If we can use the entry to the site then I think we can do 7, it may be tight though.
