I may have worded it wrong, without bumps I get the extra stuff travel. Right now my issue without bumps is bending fenders.

I'd be less worried about rubbing fenders and more worried about putting your springs into negative arch.

Every time a spring goes into negative arch it decreases the life span and capacity of the leafs durastically.

Also if your going to continue to run no bumps, I'd suggest pulling all the leafs but the main, and cycle the suspension to ensure that your shock is not your bumpstop.

Running no bumps is a no no. Get some bump stops in there :p

It's not worth the extra 1.5" of travel to put all the stress on your truck imo. Hell, I bumped my truck 1" short of where I could so that my springs will never see negative arch and will live forever. Will I ever notice the 1" of bump missing, probably not.

Aren't Dakars negative arch just at rest? Most trucks I know have them are... Im not sure what other spring mfgs design there's too but I know its hard on them if they're not designed to be used as such.

Shouldn't be! All the dakars ive seen or help put on for people have a decent amount of arch to them. Could be different for their first gen packs I suppose.

Dakars aren't made to be an extremely "flexy " pack. More to carry weight and improve ride quality while doing so.

General rule of thumb, leafs should not be able to go very negative at all... obviously they can and will go into negative arch, but the more the worse it is for the pack.

The dakars are able to go negative according to my research... And they dont seem stiff at all and they flex well so I'm always interested when people say they're made for weight.... Ome even makes a leaf for extra weight.

Looks like I'm buying a truck for a tow pig for Moab.....new dd upgrade coming soon? Or to sell it right after the trip and keep my car that gets 38 mpg for ill be driving 30 miles each way to work or so... Gotta be 25 to rent big trucks/motor homes.... I can rent a regular car etc no problem. Anything with towing allowed is 25+......

Yeah I'm thinking maybe an extended cab long bed f250 with the 5.4 or 10cyl.

Only gotta be 18 or 19 to deliver/beer I believe.

Everyone assumes you're at least you're 21 when delivering beer. When you're wearing a distributor shirt people ask for beer recommendations all the time, which I'm happy to provide. Pretty funny

If my trailer sells then the truck may go.
2004.5 Duramax with lots of extra's. Mid $20's.
Or buy the whole package and put your Taco in the back :)

Probably something about like this. My uncle has the same truck but 4 door and it does good. I had a f150 with the same 5.4 and I towed a small tractor to payson(about 6800pounds) and it did pretty good. But I do like the idea of the 10cyl better. Those things do pretty good in the class c's
