So prior to the "revised" installation instructions, installing them without notching would've been correct? LOL

Now it's the consumer who can't follow instructions and are doing the installs improperly. Nothing to do with bad fitment in the first place.

So your saying you'll do a one time revalve but you won't help this customer. Wow. Great service. You could have offered to split the cost at worst. Bad business but what do you care right? As long as you cover your ass with revised instructions.

    A few things
Bad customer service is a deal breaker for me. When my icons need to be rebuilt I will be looking at kings.

Why not fix the problem on the shock instead of Mickey mousing the shock mount?

Because having consumers spend a few minutes modifying the shock mount is infinitely cheaper and easier than to completely redesign their shock. It's not too complicated, nor is shaving off some shock mount a big deal.

I'm in the market for a set up and had come to the correct conclusion from roughly a dozen examples that the icons are failing prematurely. Seeing this, in definitely not gonna do ICONs. I'm just gonna do the OME BP51. I don't need anything extensive like kings/fox.... even the OME is likely overkill for my wheeling.

So go pound sand unless you can absolutely prove that you did not receive a piece of paper that said to notch the mount. Hey we love our customers! That's bush league Madison.

Every performance coilover needs to be rebuilt at some point or another. That's just the nature of the beast.

Was there a public service announcement of the revision to the installation instructions? Or better question should there have been?

Was going to defend Icon as I have been pretty satisfied with my stage 4 lift as well. Went out to double check my resis and one of them was leaking as well. Glad this thread is up so I went out and checked.

Sorry man. Your mistaken. Stop running your mouth and know the facts.

OP instructions were pre revision and didnt have the notching part in there and ICON doesn't want to cover it. Yet they announce that they will do a 1 time revalue for free.

for sure. people think that not checking clearances after installing a lift isnt their problem and should fit perfect like OEM. so many butts are hurt currently.

sorry, nowhere in this stupid 17 page thread has he said that, he didnt install, he doesnt have the directions. his were after that date. his installer fucked up. end of story. If i did that install and this came back, it would be my fault for not cycling the suspension and looking at it. just looking at the pic i can tell its to close.
