I decided to start a build thread mostly to keep track of the things I am doing and get input from some of you guys on here with much more experience and knowledge! Looking to build a truck that can take me on awesome adventures and keep me outdoors camping, fishing, rock climbing, hunting and seeing the beauty in nature. As well as wheeling some trails!

    Background:
So a little back ground on the truck, its a 2004 Extended cab 4x4 SR5 TRD Off-Road and I picked it up in may 2016. I gave it the name Oliver for no rhyme or reason. It was completely stock with with 50k on it from the original owner(an older lady that was retiring and moving out of state) for $17K. I think that is a steal just based on the condition and miles on it.

    How it sits Right now

Thanks, long process and so much more to go! Are you manual or auto? Why do you want to go to 4.30 gear ratio?

Im auto, but if I bump to 33's I feel like 4.30 would make a big difference over the stock 4.10. When I drove my cousins first gen on 33's it felt a little gutless compared to my truck on stock size tires.

So got the lights on the truck, took for ever. I didnt get to wire the halos in as it was getting really late. Overall, the retrofit was a PIA! Id buy a complete built pair next time. Im pretty sure I have to reseal them better as there was moisture in there after all said and done. Also you can see I broke the tabs so Just on that side I had to use wire around the halos.

Hoping to get my suspension on this weekend, had a few guys on TW doing a mod day that said they would give a hand!

I'm hoping to also knock out the wiring for my halos as well. Looking for a good place to grab power without having to splice into factory lights.

Also took advantage of the TW GB for the Redline Quiklift hood struts, should be coming in at the end of this week or early next. Been looking at getting a set so I'm definitely happy to get the 25% off.

IMG_6018.jpg Suspension is on! Took about 12 hours to install with the help from some other local TW members. Couldn't have done it without them! But I'm very happy with the outcome and the ride.

Diff drop didn't make it on nor did the greasable shackle bolts. But both should be easy installs. So those will be next.

Followed by redline tuning quicklift hood struts and some maintenance (belts and fluids)IMG_6014.jpgIMG_6011.jpg

Loving these longer days! Got home from work and decided to throw my redline hood struts on. Really easy install. Wanted to do this before I did my belts to get the hood rod out of the way. (Not to mention I'm having trouble finding the correct lengths of belts so I'm not entirely sure I have the right ones) IMG_6025.jpgIMG_6024.jpg

Got some stuff done today, new P/S, AC and alternator belts. Went with Kevlar Gates. Also got a phone holder from Amazon. I'll grab some pictures next time I'm in the truck.

Got the halos to my retros wired, didn't get around to the switchbacks but that shouldn't take long once I get to it.

So I was finishing up the wiring to my switchback halos and popped the lenses off the corner light. No big deal I thought, I have extra sealant from my retrofit. So I slapped some on threw in the oven at 250 for 8 minutes just like the headlights. Well, the are not like the headlights lol. Safe to say I have already ordered another pair.IMG_6034.jpg

Replaced the corner light that I broke the other day, got it with black trim to force myself to paint the grill black. Also got some Trinova plastic and trim restorer. Worked great, no the real question is how long will it last. IMG_6051.jpgIMG_6064.jpgIMG_6063.jpg
