So CAI's don't really do anything but make your engine sound better?

+ whatever on the AFE drop in. The OEM system IS a CAI.

No, there are other fools with them, too.

I'm one of those fools too. It's time to get rid of it though and I was considering getting a CAI. It seems that I only want to AFE drop in though.

Do the AFE filters have a cleaning kit or anything like that? How long are they good for?

I'm looking to order my AFE drop in right now, but I want to get the cleaning kit at the same time. I'm on the AFE website, and there are 7 different kits to choose from (spray, squeeze, aerosol, blue, gold, etc). Which one do I want?

    Thanks for the help.

Just like everyone is telling you...Save your money and get the AFE drop in

I'm getting excellent results with the AFE Pro Dry S drop in and I removed the secondary emissions filter also.

Getting 19.3 MPG around town with my 05 Tacoma Pre Runner 4.0 V-6

With the AFE installed and the secondary filter removed my Borla Cat Back exhaust system really sings:D

I would not use a K&N oiled filter with the 4.0 if I were you

Your gonna get oil build up on your Mass Air Flow Sensor

Go with a Non Oiled Filter like the AFE Pro Dry S
