Sooo I've asked you about this at least once before, but I'm gonna do it again.

How are the 63s holding up? Would you still recommend them? I'll be installing BAMF shock mounts and 12" kings once the snow melts and I can work in the driveway. I have been planning on copying your 63 swap forever... but jberry is making me doubt myself with all his talk about stock size leaf packs and leaving the shackle inverted.

Ok yeah so lets talk here.

Currently I'm not pleased with my setup but it's not the 63s. Its how I set up my shock relocation and where I put my rear shackle mount. I could fix this in a weekend but with my logic is I'd rather spend 3 months on jackstands and full overhaul

Ok so about the 63s and all the shit and everything with shackles and leaf packs. Inverted shackle is the way to go with bolt in replacement leafs. No ifs, ands, or buts. The only proper way to flip your shackle is to go to a 63 swap really. It's a leaf setup that is longer and designed to use with a flipped shackle (not negative arching the hell out of stock sized leaf packs and causing shitty ride)

63s also feel really nice. They do! Not if you're basically touching your bumpstop.... but they do feel good. They're flat... soft.... "Z71 like a cadillac..." but they can handle weight (half ton) And if you're trying to tune things to your needs and liking. 63s are the easy way to go from the junkyard assortment of leafs and shit and all the aftermarket support.

I'm not going to push against the custom built leaf pack... that's a really good way to go especially setup with some damn nice shocks.

But if you want to go this route... Personally I vote 14" shocks... setup properly... OR really figure out your uptravel with the relocation and 12s... you're gonna sacrifice some downtravel though. These leafs have more potential with 14" of shock travel TBH.

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking 14's with those ford shock towers I saw floating around TW.. but then the fiance got me the BAMF kit before I updated my future mods list. Really I don't need more travel anyway... I just want to carry my camping gear without riding the damn bumps. So 12's with a better leaf pack should make me happy, even if 14s would be better.

I'll give it some serious thought over the next couple weeks before I order more stuff. Your input is very valuable though, thanks again.

Even with my stupidly bright light, I don't ride a lot at night. Because i know it blinds people

 

Seriously though no lube is best. And tri flow blows. I actually bought you a can of the lube but have forgotten about it lol also I'm trying not to use lube

I don't like riding at night because you can't see when the front wheel is off the ground. The trees look cool though
