Yep. I'm paying $92.5 for that secluded cabin & 10.2 acres. I think even if I had crazy money I couldn't pay that much to get from point A to point B and for something that loses its value as fast as a vehicle does.

Neighbor told me this morning that she had to call the police @ 3:30am because someone was beating on the vacuum/air pump that we have here at work trying to get the change out.

Baltimore ... what a wasteland.

 

And it's not like it's cheap to live here. I was talking to a customer recently that lives here in canton and she said her Baltimore City property taxes is almost $700 a month, just her taxes, that doesn't include her monthly mortgage payment. And she lives in a corner house with no yard. How can you pay that much in property tax and have no yard, no parking pad, nothing! She has a rooftop deck but that's it.

 

Nope. She can keep that. Wow...

 

The sad thing is, if she's only paying $8,400 in property tax, that's a fairly affordable home by Baltimore City standards. When we rebuilt my house in Canton and sold it, the estimated property tax was listed at $11,800 and by no means was I "living large."

 

Damn! $11.8k a year in property taxes and you don't have any property! I just don't understand it.

 

When I first started looking for a cabin & property I was looking in PA until I realized how much the property/school tax is there. Then I started looking in WV. Yearly taxes on the cabin & 10.2 acres is only $582 a year.

 

My gun range is out in WV and everytime I'm in that state I'm mad I don't live there.

I am moving to Key West in July though, so lower property tax is on the way!

I was in Key West once but I made the mistake of going in July, hot as hell! Beautiful tho.

 

looking forward to SC property tax. houses we are looking at there are twice as much as our house here, but tax is the same (~$2,500/year). many other things are less expensive there as well

 

Seems like a lot of MD'ers are moving to the Carolinas.

 

back in the 80's, I was one of 5 guys that drove ALL the pilings for the bridges from 7 mile bridge to Key West, whudda culture shock for me the day we arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I've considered it
