Gonna have to wait for the "KING blue doesn't match my hat, they won't refinish it for me" thread.

My wife wanted kings on her 4Runner but hated the blue, so we paid $300 more per pair of shocks to get custom black Kings.
When they got here, they still had blue coils
    Still love them tho.

This is why @scocar didn't opt for the black option, IIRC.

I think there is a positive way with this that both of you guys are hinting at. I agree with speedo that if a rep is on here, no issue in asking honest questions whether they can answer or not. They are likely more capable of getting these inquiries to the right folks at icon for a possible answer. Whether this be possible design suggestions, quirks, to how many staff they have in customer service.

I also agree, even though this is a public forum, to give the reps some leniency as they likely were not involved in the development of stuff (not saying they arnt). The resounding theme I keep hearing about icon is they are rather receptive to customer input from what I have heard in this thread.

With that being said, we are an enthusiast community with a lot of different set ups with many using their products. I think it would be an opportunity missed to not ask questions regardless of department discipline as long as it is a constructive tone. After all, this forum is all about collaboration for the better TW'er right?

Asking questions is fine, demanding they admit error that design engineers didn't catch or chose to ignore is not, nor is berating them for "false advertising." That's not their responsibility. I'm talking about the Icon reps who are willingly participating here, not about Icon the manufacturer.

They can field those issues to appropriate parties, for sure, and if more people like you gave them an inch to talk without shouting them back down and saying they're shit, maybe they'd mention their intentions with these issues being voiced.

    But.. they aren't.

We've got people telling them instead of asking them, even to provide free shocks to the OP.

How things are actually playing out here, it's akin to demanding the bank teller to explain why you lost money on your investment last month. It makes all the people talking them down look incredibly irrational and makes the forum look like it's populated by a bunch of dumb kids.

You're one of the few voices of reason in this thread who can actually maintain a conversation with someone for the betterment of the members here, the people who are, again.. yelling at the mailbox for the faults of the postal service, are doing the opposite.

    Stupidity has never fixed anything.

Actually...someone at my local Toyota dealer (parts dept) told me yesterday that Kings would do custom anodized color.... for extra $$.

    Just verified from their website:
"At King Shocks everything we build is custom made for you so there are many choices available when you place your order. Our knowledgeable sales team will guide you through the ordering process where we explain all the options available. You can specify every aspect of your parts including, shock lengths, hose lengths, seal options, rod end styles, custom colors to match your paint scheme or any of the over 30 options available"

Well I think you broke it down pretty well. For what it's worth we have two icon reps in here now so atleast we are helping to bridge some sort of gap whether temporarily or permanent due to this strong debate. I agree though, hopefully we can encourage these reps to stick around.

    Hey guys!
It is pretty hard to keep up with this thread so, if you guys have questions or concerns with your vehicle that we haven't answered feel free to message me on here!
Forums aren't our actual job, we just try to take as much time as we can to connect with our customers in ways other than phone calls and emails. I will get back to your messages as soon as possible!
I, myself am a sales rep / tech support rep. Before being in the office I was out in the shop building shocks, along with the other sales reps here.
    Thank you!

I mentioned this to Brian, also.. so here it is for you, too.. if you're able to show someone else/present someone else with the complaints and issues and are able to help fix the issue or the situation at hand, you'll be far better served by that in the end than going back and forth with a number of morons who really don't care what you have to say, and only want to hear you say you're wrong and they are right.

    This I can guarantee you.
