    Hey y'all,
been a while since I've had any issues to report, which is a good thing!
However, as I was driving home the other night I noticed out of the corner of my eye that the center display in the instrument cluster was flickering. At first I thought I was seeing things, but then it kept happening. Having experimented with it since I can tell for a fact that (on my truck) it dims down for a second when I hit the brakes, only to come back to regular brightness. Now I'm no electrical guru, but I've never had another vehicle exhibit that kind of behavior, and I'm wondering what kind of gremlins are at work here.

    Truck is bone stock btw.

Thanks in advance for any sound advice or ideas on what to do.

True, I'm just wondering if anyone knew of that indicating a "bad" issue, so I'll know if it's worth my time to take it to the dealer.

Funny enough, I noticed this a while back, and just took a video of it tonight. Much more noticeable in person, but you can kinda see it in the video.

Yup, that exactly what I'm talking about, except mine goes darker and then back to normal.

I may have a similar issue, I only notice when I'm looking at the road though

I chalked it up to the mph numbers fluctuating

I have caught the whole dash dimming and such while driving but I think its due to the interior auto-dim function. Happens mostly when its overcast and passing under overpasses.

Mine happens day or night (obviously more apparent at night) when I hit the brakes. Probably not related to sensor.

Yeah, it's literally every second time I press the brake pedal, it's 100% repeatable. My gauges are at full dim btw.

I will have to try pressing the brake over and over to see if I can get my dash to do that! I came to this thread because I've noticed that my dash illumination flickers ever so slightly. It is especially noticeable in the center multi-display and when I am stopped, idling at a stoplight for example. I also keep my dash illumination pretty dim. I could very well be that the auto-dimming feature is malfunctioning, or is a byproduct of its circuitry, or voltage isn't very clean when the motor is idling and the alternator is spinning at a slower rate.

I've been having this issue but ONLY with the ODO/TRIP words by the rod for adjusting the brightness/ seeing the trip info. No where else on the dash. Mine didn't seem to be related to using the brakes but would randomly flicker. It would flicker when I was on the gas too. Hmm ever figure out what it was?

Mine actually doesn't happen on the instrument panel but on the actual head unit. Has anyone ever seen that?

Old thread I know, but my climate control display is doing this. It just flickers a little bit. But only in drive/reverse and with my dimmer on. Nothing else is doing it. Any advice?

Mine doesn’t do that but at random times I noticed mine switched from the mph display to my tpms display after hitting the horn . I need to take a video of it .when it happens it’s random . You know the dealer won’t don’t shit about it unless they can reproduce the issue .
