Sorry I worded that wrong. The standard length rears compared to extended rears. ill be doing 5100's all the way around.

I could have read it wrong too, too many hours staring at the computer screen

For the rear lift you are looking at the extended would be too long. They were designed to work with a 3-4" block lift and can be paired with a full lift leaf pack as well.

Hi Marie, after a month of running 3rd Gen 5100 with ome 888 I ordered from you, the front has settle to 2.25 with no added weight. I thought about putting half inch spacer but that'll probably defect the purpose of using this lift kit. I'm thinking of setting the 5100 one ring up instead. Some said it's not a good idea to preload ome coilovers however, setting the 5100 to .65 shouldnt be that big of a difference? Do you think setting it to .65 will change the ride by a lot. I could use a little more stiffness at the from but not a lot.. you think it'll make a drastic change on stiffness? Anyone have any inputs?

That is hard to say. I haven't had anyone preload the lift coils are the 3rd gen Bilsteins, there really hasn't been any need too. I have had people do this with the 887's and the 2nd gen Billies at the 0.85" setting though. Preloading the lift coils will compound lift so usually people see around 1" more lift. So I would venture to guess that it would put you over the 3" mark. I can not speak to ride quality, angles, or how the shock/coil combo will be affected since this is not something that we have test fit here.

Hi Marie, I have a couple of questions regarding the 3rd gen 5100s and lift kits in general. I'm looking for a kit that will give me a 3" lift up front and 2.5 in the rear giving the truck a 0.5" rake. I would like to have the ride be as close to stock as possible.
    1. I'm currently running the 3rd gen 5100s all around on my 17 TRD Off Road 4x4. Have the stock coils preloaded at the top notch for a 2" lift up front and no lift in the rear. The ride for this set up is not terrible but definitely not good and not what I'm looking for. Can this set-up be salvaged with the OME 888 coils at 0 setting and AAL in the rear to achieve the desired lift? I spend 85% of my time on road and 15% off road and would like a comfortable ride with adequate performance off road. I do light tows and light loads occasionally.
    2. With a $2000 budget, which complete lift kit do you recommend that will give me the lift, performance, and comfort that I'm looking for? I've considered Fox and King but they are probably a bit of an overkill for my needs. I've also read that maxing out the Fox and King or any coilover setup to achieve a 3" lift will also result in a harsh ride. Again, I would like the ride to be as close to or better than stock if possible.
Any recommendation you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Which truck do you have and how do you like the ride for this setup? Is it close to stock in terms of comfort? I'm considering the 888 coils but don't want to lose the height over time.

DC OR. It dropped to 2.5 or a little below that. The ride is not mushy like the stock OR suspension. I did bumped the 5100 one ring up and now it rides so bad (jarring). I'm considering setting it back to zero and run 1/2 spacer to see how it ride.

Has anyone used the "0" setting with sport coil springs? Does it give same ride height as stock? And also anyone done this with .65 setting and sport coils? Wondering how much lift on these two settings and if they have settled down at all this is for a 2016 sport thanks

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this tid but or not, but you all seem really knowledge about the issue.

I am COMPLETELY new to owning a truck. This is my first Tacoma and it is a TRD Off Road Double Cab and standard bed.

I really want to level it out and bring the front end up and eventually put TRD Pro 17" Wheels with bigger tires.

From what I've gathered, a good start for me would be the 5100s on the front to level it out. Are there any other things I would need to do this? What setting are people adjusting to on the off roads with 5100s to get us level?

    Thanks,
    Complete Noob

This is a great question. I'm looking to throw some 33's on my truck without being ridiculous with an overkill suspension. And obviously I don't wanna spend a fortune either. I have the 2017 OR double cab 4x4 as well.
