The noise is bad, and it constantly squeaks and rattles. I get the occasional squeak or rattle in my truck, but I can keep up with them and fix them. The sti it never ends.

Well I put 28,000 miles on a 2015 WRX and found it so noisy at highway speeds, I had the radio at max volume. I find my 2017 Tacoma not quite as quiet as my old f50 but still a muricle over the wrx.

I only briefly drove a WRX but put 75K on a Forester XT Turbo with 5 MT. Now have a '16 Taco TRD OR with auto trans. After the first few stoplight drags in the Forester I pretty much drove it like the old man I am, and drive the Taco the same way. Generally I find the Taco quieter, smoother riding and far more comfortable, and fuel cost is about the same or lower ... 18-25 mpg in the the Sube, premium; 17-22 in the Taco, cheapest unleaded I can get. Only place I miss the Subaru is on-road snow especially mixed conditions where AWD rules. I do kinda miss the MT, but my wife's car is an MT VW which shifts much better and has a much lighter clutch than the Subaru even though it's 20 years old.

    Like, so many.
Taco is a great daily driver plus you can hit some trails if you choose to. And you can haul stuff. And chicks dig trucks. That's science.

Commute will be much more comfortable in the taco. The Subaru... well it's a car a zippy car. A wrx was my 6th vehicle (02 bug eye with all the fixings) the taco is my 14th vehicle... I miss a zippy car, but my hobby requires a truck IMG_2742.jpg

Of course, since I've owned both. Tacoma is quieter than my old WRX, my wife's impreza, and my mother in laws outback. I also had both an AT and MT tacoma, the manual is louder than the auto, but both have been quieter than all the vehicles I've owned to date other than my old FJ. Not hating on subies, I love them, but they're not quiet vehicles.

That's a very hard choice to make. I have no answer to this. It's tough one! Pick the one that will serve your lifestyle best! I'm lucky to have both. I use the STi for autoX and HPDE and Tacoma for hunting, going to the range etc. Goodluck!

Different scenario, but I had a '14 Taco, traded it and bought a '17 Mustang GT, then realized how much I missed my truck, so I bought a '17 Taco. Took a little hit but was worth it. If you need a truck and try to convince yourself otherwise you'll soon see the miscalculation. Now if you truly don't need a truck, then your decision gets easier. I'll submit to you that once you have a truck and try to skate by without one you'll feel some pain...

Dang, you like the Tacoma seat better than a wrx? How tall are you? The wrx must be awful. I figured it would have nice buckets with perfect placement but then again I've never driven one.
