If you don't mind a rough texture, why not just use paint? Color selection is better. Still the same process to fix scratches.

But, if you google painting with a roller, some people have actually had good results with a roller, it requires color sanding smooth before clear coating it. Check out rusto-leum on a '68 Charger. Orange. came out nice.

Kind of the idea here, results can be even better on other examples I've seen.
Hell I paid for a paint job in the '80s that came back with so much orange peel it was a disaster. (it looked like it had been put on with a roller) Then the painter flipped and went out of business going on a 3 yr. crack binge.

I had to color sand my ass off (hand actually) and then buff the hell out of it. (1 stage urethane back then).
It actually turned out pretty good.

Love that, really turned that S-10 up to an 11. Maybe it was the Skrillex that made it look so good.

Monstaliner is much more durable and scratch resistant. It's meant for off road vehicles. It can be rolled on or sprayed. The point was that you can have a bed liner product that does not trap dirt. The original post I was referring to said that it would trap dirt and it does not as far as I can tell from the paint chips they sent me. If I was going to use an enamel for an off-road vehicle I'd use farm implement paint that is also much more durable than rustoleum enamel. Don't get me wrong - it's fine paint and I just painted my wheels with it, but rustoleum won't hold up to scratches the way that other paints will off road.

Yea, I had to turn that off.
They used to make a boat paint that you could hit with a hammer. Awl-Grip I believe.

The paint was so expensive though I imagine you could buy a truck with nice paint.

take down headliner? I really do like that the dome is next to nothing as far as light.
And for some reason, LED's don't seem bright to my old eyes. I've had those panel bulbs and changed back to stock.

Awlgrip is about 200 a gal. Urethane. It is some tough shit. Color selection is close enough to think about.

After sanding a truck that was urethane (by hand) I rec'd buying a cheap sander. Just imagine sanding a skateboard wheel.

Thank you. The one drawback to monstaliner is that it's not cheap. This stuff might be a little more, but I'll check it out.

Yea, that does look great. I've gotten some quotes for a paint job.....even beginners want a few grand to do it in their garage.

I wanted to say I DIG those wheels. The bronze man... I used to see that color on some GM vehicles. Don't notice it much anymore. Would look nice on a 1st gen. for the body color.

so is urethane something you can spray on with a paint rig or do you apply it by hand?

ISR mod. Don't underestimate it! I just did this on a bone stock taco and payed close attention to it's acceleration characteristics before and after. I would swear this in and of itself made a difference in throttle response.
I was familiar with the necessary plumbing parts having done it on my other truck but didn't remember having to hunt around in specialty hardware shops for weird plumbing parts. Can't be done well simply out of hoe depot.

    None so far.
I was looking into spraying my truck with Raptor Liner. I also have read where it doesn't have the same dirt trapping texture. They come in a kit with the spray gun.

    roller
roller but it could be sprayed.
Don't remember if it was a special gun or just reduced down more.
It was just brought up when toughness got mentioned. Not wanting a textured look and I don't know if Monsta can be sanded smooth.

Sanding it smooth would leave a messy looking finish I imagine. Not really a good product cost wise or time wise for that result if desired.

Alright, gonna plug that ISR mod again, no pun intended. I bought some plumbing parts and took the dam plastic boxes off the intake pipe. Now I know my engine is running when I tap the go pedal at a light. My ears aren't as good as they used to be but this thing was too fucking still and quiet. Embarassing thinking it died and turning the key again... Plus I got some more getup off the line.
