Squeaky interior (in cold weather)

My '17 DCSB SR5 has recently (only when it's below about 40 degrees) started squeaking. It's got about 1,100 miles on it and it's been over fairly smooth (by PennDOT standards) roads and hasn't even been "off road" yet. Yet in the past week, I've noticed that when driving over those same (semi-)smooth roads, with every little bump, I get short, high-pitched squeaks from inside the cabin. It almost sounds like hard plastic-on-plastic rubbing. When I hear the noise, I've tried pressing against various potential sources (parts of the dashboard, center console, etc.) to see if I can either "feel" where the noise is coming from or make it go away. I know that high-pitched noises tend to telegraph through objects or materials, so it's been impossible to figure out the source.

The only modifications I've made to the interior are installing the OEM all-weather floor mats and replacing the interior lights with LEDs. When installing the LEDs, everything went back together (covers snapped back on) without issue, so I don't think that's it.

In the grand scheme of things, I can just turn the radio up a bit and not notice the squeaks, but if they're an indicator of something else, I'd rather not ignore them. Anyone else finding squeaks in the interior of their 3rd gens?

Check the right side speaker cover rubbing on a-pillar. Been several folks who have had that problem. Put a small piece of felt or rubber in between and see if it goes away.

Right as in passenger side, correct? Because that's kind of where it seems to be coming from, but I can't reach all the way over there while driving (at least not safely) to check.

Yup, passenger side. Have someone ride with you, or just put a bit of something in there that won't scratch stuff up and see if it goes away.

Great...I have some 1/4" thick foam rubber (old cut-up sleeping pad) that I can stick in there as a test.

I just hate having to hunt down squeeks and rattles. So far on my current vehicle I haven't had to. Past ones though not so lucky.

Mine squeak from the right speaker cover and right a pillar. Took it to the dealer and they said the dashboard is out of alignment and either needs to be replace or the whole realigned. Waiting for toyota to respond back to the dealer to see what they want done.

Mine has a rattle in the B pillar in heavy rain/wet conditions.

    Can't imagine how that's related

Lol even listening to that in someone else's video pisses me off. I have squeak hypervigilance. As soon as I heard it I went into search/stress mode.

I have the dash rattle on the passenger side too. I've had it back to the dealer 3 times with no fix. The dipshits from Toyota Care said, " maybe it's just a characteristic of the vehicle" unbelievable

Any thoughts on whether or not this could be happening with an ebrake pedal set up as well? - I've been on a cross country trip with a loaded bed and cab and have been using my ebrake a lot more when parked camping for the night, squeaks been plaguing me while rolling down the highway for hours on end intermittantly? Any thoughts? I haven't looked at the cable set up yet but it sounds the exact same and his video! It never happened over the past 2 and a half years up until a week ago!

With others in the truck, I narrowed the noise down to something in or around the rear seats. Will have to do some more research.

My passenger a-pillar was having a squeak / making noise when driving. I read about cutting foam for it , never got around to it. A few days later read on this forum some may not be installed all the way and some pushing might click it into place. I pushed forward on the lower portion of the a-pillar towered the hood of the car. I heard a click and havnt had a problem since, no foam no modifications. Hope it helps.

It could be I suppose, all I did to mine was hit all the moving parts with spray lube (the same stuff you would use on the door hinges). Squeak destroyed.

Honestly you just have to spend some time and methodically chase it down. I felt like a dumbass after ripping apart my dash/A-pillar/speaker cover, only to find it was the e-brake.

Hey guys, I have a 1st gen that has a squeak coming from the right side of the interior. It seems to be coming from the far passenger side of the dash. Any 1st gen owners in here that have had the same issue and have a fix?

Getting this issue right now did anyone find out what it was? Sure seems to be coming from inside the cab on the passenger side.

Right front speaker grill (dash) rubbing on the "A" pillar. Slide some paper between the 2 parts and see if it goes away.

Is that the parking brake cable? I have the same squeak and my passenger side parking brake cable is loose.
