OP I'd try to spec out and put a value on the options you added. Not sure you could get dollar for dollar but I would find out what the add on's would cost brand new and at least get 1/3 to 1/2 of either what it all actually cost you or what it would cost today.

So for instance if a lift, Billsteins and whatever cost you $3000, then tack $1000 to $1500 onto your initial asking price. This could be a cushion to negotiate if nothing else.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Sorry OP wasn't trying to hijack your thread. Good luck on your sale. If you find yourself in Reno I owe you a beer.

Better to sell outright than trade it in as I'm sure you know already

Bring it to Alaska; hell you could probably get 25k for it up here! I ain't even joking either. Before I bought my 2015; I went to a few dealers around town. had a 2010 with 80k miles; snug top canopy_ Dealership wanted 37k for it! They smoking crack; I told the sales guy why would I buy this when a new one is cheaper? He simply said its got additional accessories lol; I went straight to the Toyota dealership and picked me up a Brand new 2015 for 31k(35k on lot but dealer made a paperwork mistake saving me 4k)

Of course that is the case in anything. In san diego they average about 2-4k above kbb depending on alot of things. I recently sold my truck for 4k above kbb in san diego. carmax even offered 1k above kbb.

And what company do you trust kbb or nada? The same truck in Nada has a clean retail price around 15k......

I agree with this. Take it to carmax and see what they offer. Then go from there.

    Stock.

Granted I realize you likely won't bring the truck up to AK, httuner is pretty much spot on. It's pretty wild what used vehicles go for up here.

If what httuner is true, I would plan a road trip to Alaska, sell the vehicle while you are there and then buy a one-way plan trip home. The additional money you make on the truck will pay for your trip.

I just bought my truck earlier this year it's almost the exact same spec as yours. It's 06 6spd sport double cab 4x4 142k miles clean title. And I paid 10k for it which was a steal. If I were to resell it , I'd probably ask 13-14k. I'm also in SoCal and these 4x4 6spd are hard to find.

They do but not by much. I recently sold my '08 JK privately and bought a private sale '08 DCLB TRD Sport 4x4. I sold the JK for 4k more than I paid for the Taco, it had 20k less miles but probably 10-15k more in parts. Had it been closer in mileage and modifications it would've sold for less.

6spd may be a dime a dozen in Florida but definitely not here in SoCal

I bought my 2005 Tacoma crew cab 2 years ago. It has a long bed, is automatic, not a 4x4 and is otherwise stock. It needed tires, and new plugs/coils. It had 147k miles on it. I paid 12,500. But I am in SC. I thought I paid a fair price compared to what everyone else was asking at the time, but then paid $700 for new tires. Hope that helps somehow.
