I give horse folk the business sometimes when they ride an mtb trail... They totally ruin it with one day of horses on it. Those hooves really dig shit up.

Yea horses are super distructive. Kinda funny really.

I didn't know there were any dedicated mountain bike tacks in wyo.

I had one for years. Not a solid axle crawler, but a IFS/IRS 1/10 4x4 scale monster truck deal.

They've updated the chassis a lot now. But mine was older with the dual electric motors.




Hauled ASS over pretty much anything. I crashed it once too and had to rebuild almost the whole front end. I thought it was expensive at the time for $150ish dollars in parts

They are fun though. I just never used it enough. Amazingly, i sold it for only $20 less then what i purchased it for 7 years later! haha

you can get pretty intricate with them. Shock tuning and tire/foam for grip and feel. People take it pretty serious. Professional racing out there too of all kinds.

Hell Traxxas makes a street race car that hits 70mph! haha

 

I have a few Buggies and one scale crawler. Ben's right (that felt strange) they are expensive if you buy ones that are initially cheap like Traxxas, lower end Axial. I like the Team Associated and RC4WD stuff, it has a high entry cost but low maintenance, kinda like Toyota (3rd gen excluded).

 

I wanted a nitro powered team Losi or whatever for a long time. Bad ass truggys out there.

 

I would be just like that. Fix, repeat.

The Nitro stuff is cool, but if you don't use them everyday and your time is valuable to you they end up being a nightmare. Tiny engines are finicky as hell.

Why i never got one haha The Emaxx was fun for me. reliable, fast(35mph) and pretty sturdy. I have fun when i drove it.

I heard it has a points system to it. Sounded cool. Couldnt fit my clubs in this trip. Played last time I was here though. It's fun playing amongst the saguaro cactus.

 

Scale crawlers are fun! I built this one a while back, dont play with it enough anymore.

For future reference, TPC, Grayhawk and Legend Trails are the best courses I can remember that you can get on without being a guest or member. I think Troon North might not require membership either, but never got the chance to play it.

This is Scottsdale only, never have played any other Phoenix courses.
