He said truck had msrp of 39, plus what you say is 10k in addons and labor. how do you get to 42k.

pretty nice work. it would be nice if all dealers stepped their game up with outfitting trucks like this. keep it up, OP!

 

price is accurate, Tacoma OR and Sport models with tech package are all around 39k plus delivery fees. then you add wheels and tires, suspension and you get to 5k+ easy. labor is always a debate, but we all know that paying a hack a lower rate and paying a trained tech will always up the price. Then don't forget the fact that dealer and all businesses operate for this small reason called "profit". We always seem to forget that everything in life cost something, nothing is free, I have to pay for the internet bill or cell phone bill so I can sit here and argue with the wall aka TW threads lol.

All in all, solid looking build! I am always excited to see someone taking the initiative to build fun stuff (even though most will just sit and bash the price), beats the spacer and rockstar wheels for the same mark up as someone previously mentioned.

 

Needs to be quicksand.

I would like to see like2detail get a white crew cab short bed and figure out a way with graphics to do it as an Iron Man truck with the red, orange and yellow stripes on the sides and hood. A retro look on a 17 Tacoma 4X4. I think it would look great.

You read my mind. Next one is going to be a quicksand OR! Been planning that one for a little too. I want to do it with a rack system and RTT, same suspension, similar wheels, same tires. I think it would look cool set up in the showroom with the tent!

 

Thought of that too. I've got to roll through these so I can build them all. One at a time though!

Nice job on the build. Which leather inserts do you have on? Or are those standard leather seats?

 

It was done by a local shop using Katzkin leather. Check out www.katzkin.com, you can create custom kits. The shop removed the cloth and installed on the factory seats using the factory seat heaters. Came out really nice.

Do you still have to specs or pattern for those vinyl stripe set?? I want to add these to my white truck except maybe dark charcoal , dark silver and light silver , or maybe you could even put me in touch with the sign guy that made this happen.
