correct on all. Jetblue pilot missed the fbo exit, ended up in taxiway infield surrounded by lights and signs, full of fuel and passengers and luggage. Time past as the fbo tow crew were called back to work, (around 0100), they pushed it about 20ft before it sunk, swissport tried to push it but broke the bypass pin. FBO defueled 4,000 gallons, another failed push by Delta tow bar, I opened a runway and went home around 0630 and it was still stuck. Wasnt till mid afternoon it got jacked up, steel plates put under and towed out. All this was the pilots fault, we could hear him telling (angry) deboarding passengers that he missed the exit because "a taxiway light was out":facepalm: He's full of you know what of course, we have proof. sigh

No fog or any weather. Just a clear dark night, around 0100 when he tried taxiing out :plane:

hmm. ive seen that kind of thing happen, but at BWI the asphalt surface actually failed under the weight of a 737-900ER at MTOW, and it was a similar process to get it unstuck, but not before they almost ripped the nose gear out trying to pull it with a pushback meant for A380's

I have seen several cases where leaking storm drains compromised the runway integrity ... especially on asphalt surfaces

This is a good reminder to stay on the yellow line as much as possible, especially when in an unfamiliar area. It does not guarantee you won't have problems but it can sure minimize them.

What airport was this? I am guessing it was a charter flight if they were at the FBO?

Another completely different airplane sunk into the asphalt picture appeared on my Facebook feed this morning. Judging by the size and weight it could have been this situation you described.

Did a demo flight for a client in a CJ today with winglet conversion. Flew like a CJ2 and was able to climb all the way to FL410 without step climbing, which is not reallly possible with the CJ1 I fly sometimes.
