What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Finally put a new set of KO2's on her...

 

Clean looking truck! and +1 for the OWL

 

Anyone out there who has 5.29s wishing they had 4.88s instead? Trade? My 4 cylinder doesn't handle the altitude well and it could use the difference in ratios. 8.4 rear with ARB and front with aussie.

 

Doing the front grille/headlight conversion. What else do I need besides lights, hood, grille, filler pieces? I've read a couple write ups and still have confusion. A new hood latch someone mentioned. I was thinking of getting the 1 piece lights so the corners are connected. How would these mount up? Anybody that can chime in on this I'd appreciate it.

Yeah. I really like the look of it enough to convert mine. I'm going to put projectors in it but probably not as much lighting as I have in mine now.

 

Programmed the new keyless entry.put gas in it.

 

Josh, I'm so down to trade, I have one piece headlights too. I want to be unique and have a double cab with the older style front end.

 

I'd be down to sell you what I've got for not a whole lot. What would you want? Pretty sure you can do the conversion for like $300 or so might as well buy new. I'm in Colorado

I'm getting a fiberglass hood I liked......and the grille is only $40 new.....

 

Hood I'd like. Fiberglass......would go good with the rest of my truck and hopefully clear my turbo slightly better.....Haven't seen anyone on here with this one either.

 

Oh I see, maybe I'll pass then, I was thinking a flat trade, but if you're getting a glass hood and new grill I'm good. I really don't need any more parts lying around the house haha

Can anyone tell me how to remove the full door assembly for the drivers and passenger side on a 98 to 2000 Tacoma I am taking some complete doors from a donor truck how would I remove it from the body

When I did mine last summer, I had to purchase new headlight brackets as the screws from the 98-00 don't line up. You could I guess Drill new ones, but I went ahead and bought new ones. I wouldn't worry about filler pieces they are just going to fall out.

 

I have converted two 2000 Tacoma to the older style grill. The 1st one I didn't change the radiator support but the 2nd one I did. It was so much easier on the one I changed the radiator support on. Makes it easier to install the rest of the stuff. You might want to look into changing the radiator support.
