Ok guys I've got a 2011 access cab with about 55000 miles on her. I've done a lot of work to this truck and I'm kinda over it. I'm just about paid off have maybe 3 more payments. Now I'm thinking should I pay it off and trade it in or leave the payments... not sure if that will make a difference or not. But I really want a 4 door and I going to stick with the tacos but is the trd pro really worth the money? I'm not going to be doing no crazy wheeling like I've done but I want something sharp looking.
    So what's everyone opinion?

    Stay debt free.

But if you HAVE to have 4doors, don't get the TRD Pro. Just get a TRDOR and buy the grille seperately.

My opinion is pay it off and sell it private party. Depending on what the dealership will give you. In my experience they will always try to rip you off, but some places will actually give you good trade in for Tacomas because they are so desirable.

I was thinking about selling it privately but I don't want to deal with the hassle and honestly I'm not even sure what to price it at.

Sweet looking truck. When you trade/sell, the aftermarket stuff you've got on it won't be making much of a difference (unless you get exactly the right buyer), so if it was me, I'd buy a '15 and swap your good stuff onto it.

Go a few months with no payment and see how it feels to have extra money. If my old.truck didnt start having problem i would have never traded it in and started over.

Keep it, I almost made the same mistake. If you need more space maybe try a shell?

I'm not really to fond of the shell. I tried the bed cover and didn't like it

Working for a massive dealership who get modded vehicles in all the time, they won't give you squat. Take at least the bumpers off, find a truck you want online, test drive it, and say "I'll trade in my truck I want to pay xxx (a reasonable low ball) OUT THE DOOR (that's the key, they'll get you on other stuff, you need an OTD price in mind), this factors the money you get from the trade in, the sales person will go to his manager, if they're serious the manager will come out and make you a counter. If the manager comes out you've won. Say no, walk, they'll agree. If the manager doesn't come out most of the time you're boned and the offer was too low. Just find another dealer, one will do it. I negotiate everyone in my family's cars, it works best end of the year but end of a month works too. Good luck!

Wanting and needing a 4 door is two different things.
    imo, pay it off.
Then make yourself payment for till the vehicle is at least 10 years old. Then look for a new vehicle. 55,000 is nothing for the Tacoma.

Being debt free is a good thing. Save up so you can pay cash for your next vehicle.
