The wall of my other office is close. Just say I've head butted it a few times when getting up.

What do RRs have to do with Baja racing?

What is their purpose other than more profit for these shock rebranders/resellers?

RR's are a meme, just like E-rated tires. I'd wager less than 1% of the membership of this forum actually requires such components, yet 95% own these silly items.

Don't get me started on the light bars...oh man.

Longer service interval because of increased oil capacity.

Isn't this 38 page thrtead about shitty service interval? how about this guy: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/upgraded-to-kings.483918/ not even 2 years!!

I had a 1992 Toyota with 116,581 miles on it when I bought it - stock suspension was still doing just fine and it didn't have remove reservoirs. I was a teenager at the time so I replaced those components with Tein coil overs - which was about $1,600 for all 4 corners. I kept the car and put about 20k miles (a lot of racing) on it for 10 years with those bad boys and sold it with them still on. Far as I know they still work.

Truck guys get ripped off hardcore for suspension because it has been hyped and marketed into oblivion.

This thread is not about a shitty service interval. The resi fitting touched the shock bucket and loosened.

    From Teins website:

    External Reservoir Tank -
Allows for increased oil capacity and increased heat dissipation, which allows the damping force to remain more consistent during long term use. Most effective in racing applications where the vehicle is run for extended time periods.

Let's take a poll, how many people on this forum who use their truck to drive to highschool/college/deskjob/farm/logging roads is doing long term racing? RR's for us casuals is a huge bamboozle. I get it though, they look cool.

That is why I ordered my Kings without reservoirs for my truck. The kind of off roading I do will will probably never warm up the shock.

: I had FOX 2.5 resi installed. The ride was real rough and i hated it. I drove around with it for a while to see if they would settle. After 7 months or so I called FOX and explained that i wasnt happy with the ride and wanted to see how much a revalve would be. They told me that they would do a 1 time valve for FREE. yes FREE. They paid for shipping there and back. When I got them back they still were a bit too stiff. A rep from FOX called me a few days later and ask how the shocks were. I told him they still were a bit stiff but I was ok with it. They again offered to adjust the valving. I declined because off road the shocks were amazing.[/QUOTE]

Did you preload the springs for more height? Also where they the standard springs or did you go with a higher spring rating to accommodate the weight of your aftermarket bumper? The reason I ask is because I'm considering Fox 2.5 non resis up front and your the second person that has said that the ride is stiff. The other person I know did pre load his springs to achieve 3in. in height. Any feed back is appreciated . Pm if you prefer
