Prerunners?

Not sure where I needed to ask this question. Sorry
Ok so I have/had a 2010 tacoma prerunner but thursday night I was hit by a guy who ran a red light. At this point I don't know if they will repair it or total it out. So I'm trying to do some research and look for some local vehicles for sale.

My question is do they still make the Prerunner? Like 2015, 2016 and 2017? Because everything I look at doesn't actually say prerunner. And having to look at photos on my phone I can't tell if they are the prerunners (that set up higher) or just the regular tacoma. I'm so out of the loop on the newer tacomas and I honestly CAN'T go into anything else. 2 accidents now (10yrs apart) my prerunner has saved my life. So I kind of want to stick with that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whatever you see that's not a 4x4 is just a 2wd aka a prerunner
They dropped the name in 16 because toyota go rid of the lower 5 lug Tacomas


So if you see a 3rd gen that's not a 4x4 then it's a 2wd that's as tall as a 4x4 just no 4wd

Yup, rolling in a TRD sport 4x2 ("prerunner") here.

 

A PRERUNNER was a Toyota Tacoma either with V6 or I4 that has the taller 6 lug suspension and was 2wd.

What Toyota did for the 2016+ model is eliminate the 5 Lug trucks so there is no more need to distinguish the 2wd little trucks and 2wd bigger suspension trucks.

A "PRERUNNER" is still made, if you wanna call it that. But it's just a standard 2wd since ALL Tacoma trucks now have 6 lug suspension.

 

Sweet. I'm hoping if they total mine out that I can find a 2016 because I love the whole look. But if I have to maybe a 2015. I am so mad my 2010 is messed up.

The TRD Sport 4x2 is close to a "Prerunner" but it does not have a rear locker, only LSD. If you get the TRD Offroad 4x2, it comes with a rear locker.hth

Oh ok thats what I thought but wanted to double check
