I'm afraid I have some bad news for you then...
This is from Feb of last year. The red car had no reason for turning right in front of me and the car next to me but somehow just made it, the white car decided to cross all (basically 7) lanes counting the turn lanes on a major road despite there being a stoplight just for this purpose right up the road. She went, then hesitated and went again and I nailed her rear quarter panel and ripped off her bumper, plate and all. That was after making a hard right as soon as I could to avoid hitting the red car that just went on about their day. Insurance covered it and I had it on my dash cam, which made it much easier for the police and for insurance.

8K worth of damage on the front end. Mostly plastics, but needed new hood, side panel, and drivers door (I couldn't even open it to get out). Impact speed was probably about 25 MPH, since I had only gotten to maybe 35 on the road as I had just came from another stoplight.

Got it back some 4 weeks later and it's been fine ever since. But it still sucks, I had around 1K miles on it at that point.

It's just a "G1W", mine was sold by Black Box through Amazon for a slick $50 in Jan 2015. It's never skipped a beat other than the battery doesn't last very long anymore. I may have gone with a capacitor based model looking back but it hasn't given me any trouble and I pull footage off of it practically weekly because of all the crazy drivers around here. Or just for cool time-lapses to post to Instagram or whatnot.

    Been there!
Supposed to be writing a paper or coding in web design etc and you just can barely hold it in.

He's an access cab for you boys.. about 10k in damage. Not including the king coilover and total chaos uca needing to be replaced. The shop said they talked with king and they only sell front coilovers in pairs.. anyone have a recommendation on what to do??

I thought of this post today when two teen girls in a 1st gen pulled out in front of me and again, when I was almost t-boned later in the day. Thankfully both times I was able to avoid collision. Sometimes I feel as if people are trying to ruin a brand new vehicle. Or maybe I'm just paying closer attention cause it's new and shiny, my previous (still have as a beater) vehicle is a 00' CRV and could care less if it was dented or scratched, it's a mini tank in my opinion. But either way I've had more than enough close calls in the month I've had this truck.

Something always happens when you get a new vehicle.... I kinda like driving a 10 year old truck.... it's stress free. I drove my moms new 4Runner into the mountains last week (away from home with family and we decided to go hiking) and put a scratch down the drivers side... it'll buff out, but I wish I had been in my truck... it'd just be another battle scar. Lol

I told my girlfriend today that I prefer driving the CRV for the simple fact, its a $1000 car, maybe.. it's got 220k miles and still drives/preforms like new(ish). The truck is just an expensive toy right now and only gets driven on the weekends until I get a few things done to make her even purtier.

I cuss my a** off driving my new truck around, I never really bothered in my 97' f150

It seems like now that I have a brand new vehicle all the dummies come out

Truth is I care more about my new ride

I get it the other guy driving the POS doesn't care if he hits me but it really grinds my gears

I had an hour drive home in my brand new truck in stop and go California traffic and I couldn't believe the guall of people willing to cut in front of me with inches to spare

We do this too. Have a topper, and they are set up nicely back there. Too much to have them in the cab, but man wish I hadn't seen this thread!

It's the truck from the OP, click the link in my post to go to the salvage site. Apparently the guy walked away.

Good point, have it towed to the dealer and get a free loaner until Toyota determines the fix.....
