What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Thanks for the info. Yeah I think I'm done debating haha. Getting new tires this week so the 5100's will have to wait just a little longer so I can let the wallet recoup.

So today I replaced my nerf bars. Went from 3" Dee Zee bars to 5" Lunds. The Dee Zees are available for sale here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dee-zee-elite-3-round-nerf-bars.484087/#post-14808862

Also installed the Amp Research Bed Extender HD Max. I like it a lot already. I do have to say though, just like someone mentioned somewhere in TW the other day, the template provided is off. I printed it myself from the vendor's site and it was also off. Then I turned off my printer's "Scale to fit" feature and it printed in the correct size. They should really print them correctly.

Lastly, I installed the OEM roof rack. I thought I knew how to install it after watching this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJQ4N9OJIPk but I shouldn't have messed with the bracket like he suggested, it threw everything off and ended up being a pain.

Put on the door cup clear scratch guards and one onthe upper part of tailgate, cleaned her up a bit and trimmed a bit more off the bottom corner of the Bushwackers. And of course took a few new pics!

 

Removed the TRD stickers.

 

Pulled off rear bumper caps and started painting them, some door moldings I bought cheap, and grill trim and emblem in matching quicksand. A lil wetsanding tomorrow and 2k clear coat is my final action.

How does the concrete look with the black lettering? Better pic? Any other minor mods you've done?

 

What's the benefit of installing these? Why is stiffer better? Pardon my ignorance.

If you stick a lot of weight up on the rails like a rack with roof top tent or other heavy things, the bed has a tendency to widen/ separate/ expand towards the rear end.

 

I'd like to do this as well. What kind of paint is best?
