Does anyone know what thread size these bolts are? They're the bed tie down bolts. I took one out but forgot it at home and I'm already at Lowes now. Thanks in advance!

    Google search engine....

    Type tacomaworld.com bed bolts.
Easier for me than linking a bunch of threads over to this thread.

Thanks man. I did that but really only found the size of the main bolts that secure the bed itself. I did find someone that said it was an m8. Then I remembered how much of an idiot I am and that I have a set of tools behind my rear seats to remove the other one. If anyone is wondering it's a 7/16-20.

That's what I thought too, but the bolts from the factory only threaded into a 7/16-20 post in lowes.

sounds like it should be a M12x 1.75 which will kinda thread into the same thing

It didn't really thread into that one but maybe that specific post was messed up. Either way I could only find grade 8 bolts in standard and they worked great.

No way this thread is a NC or NF , let me find my T55, I'll pull a bolt and measure...stay tuned (I'm a machinist, I have thread gauges, and I have calipers.)

    It's an M12 x 1.25

ETA: A 7/16-20 will measure about .4375" diameter (11.11mm) and have a thread to thread distance of .050" (1.27mm). Will it fit? Yeah probably but it is not correct; get an M12 x 1.25.

I think he's taking about the bolt in the corner with the factory d ring, not the main bed bolts.

Thanks for all the help, but yeos is correct. I need the thread size for the tie down bolt. I have found out that 7/16-20 works no problem. If you feel inclined though I wouldn't mind knowing the correct size for future use.

My mistake, I should probably refrain from posting when sleep deprived.

That being said, it sounds like the same thread (I'm not at my shop anymore but will check tomorrow)

No big deal! It most likely is. I may have to go to fastenal to find some grade 8 m12 bolts.

I stand corrected, it is an M11 x 1.25 (25mm long). That is a going to be tough to find. If Mcmaster doesn't have it you know it's a bastard thread. I think you are okay going with the 7/16's-20 as it is really close in diameter and pitch.

For what it's worth, with the Total Chaos bed stiffeners, the rear D ring bolt is replaced with a 7/16" bolt.

Just a suggestion, but maybe you could update the thread title for anyone else trying to find this info in the future. "Thread size for bed tie down points" or something like that.

I can confirm that those bolts I ordered fit my 2017 bed. once i removed the OEM bolts these fit perfect, i ordered them a little longer so they could hold down some wood. I have photos if anyone's interested.
