Curious if anybody has info on any supply houses that sell oem or aftermarket cv outboard stub shafts for the manual hub application/ 26 spline.

Don't really want a reman and hard justifying a new oem. Napa/vatozone etc out of the question.

    TIA

    The Bed is stock...ish
I'm pretty sure you are stuck buying a whole CV unless you can find a CV to rob parts from.

It's impressive that you twisted the shaft off.... I've never seen one break like that..

I'm gonna try ORS. I got my manual hub conversion kit thru them. And part of the kit were the birdied halves...
Yeah me neither. Front locked but not the rear is I'm guessing was the cause. That an being 1500# over stock.

Get a hold of a rebuild house like http://www.cvjreman.com/
See if they will sell just the joints. Might have to get past "the guy who just answers the phone". They have been willing to do "special" jobs in the past.
I have been casually interested in obtaining the joints myself for quite some time.

Failure of man hub shafts inside the hub with subsequent damage to the hub is not uncommon, saving your pics to my collection.;)

Haha really? Never seen it break like that before. Feel free to add to the collection. :annoyed:

I have a pair of add CV's in hand. And no doubt they're about 3/8" larger in circumference...

It mangled the inside of the wheel hub a bit, but it doesn't appear the cv rides on those parts but the inner and outer bronze-alloy bushings and inner hub needle bearing which all three need to be replaced...

Oh BTW, since you're so knowledgeable Dirty Pool...
When I did my add to manual hub conversion my stock ADD CV'S were reused but a manual hub cv birfield stub replaced the ADD one. Maybe you'll know.. can I straight up use a complete cv for a stock manual truck? Any differences in the diff side? I'm counting 27 splines on the tulip/diff end...

Thanks. He said he uses wheel hubs from a 2000 taco. So a good probability he used a 2000 tacos birfield stub. The star washers look the same as mine and the stub also..

I'll pm him. Shipping from Hawaii might kill the deal if he's willing to separate thou..

    So going to bump this.

I found two options for replacement cv parts by two different vendors. I only made contact with the two vendors I'm going to mention, but both seemed willing to sell.

First is a guy on here. He makes manual hub kits for the second gen, 4runners etc. He uses OE parts and he uses manual hub first gen hubs, lockouts and the outer cv joints for the kit. He uses a custom axle to make the magic happen between 1st gen to 2nd gen parts. He does the kit in his spare time as he has a job with Toyota.
He was willing to ship via flat rate box USPS.
He quoted me $125 plus shipping (around $8.00) for the birf's. And he had to wait on a shipment from his parts vendor before he could ship them to me.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/manual-locking-hub.419472/

Second vendor was ORS / Off Road Solutions.
    http://www.offroadsolutions.com

I called and asked for technical support. I was promptly put on with the owner Mike Caskey.
He was currently on back order for the parts I was inquiring about. But gave me advice on what year parts trucks to be on the look for at the junkyard etc, because they didn't have an eta. And also went over how to not ruin the axle (too late) when separating it from the birf.
His prices were $90 for the birf and around $75 for the axle.

Looks like I'm going to cut the race cages from the ADD axles to convert them, the beating them out with pipe plus hard surface didn't work out to well...
