Yea TT glass is too EXTRA for me... That's like wearing 6 gold chains and a pinky ring everyday everywhere you go... just not my style. Yea these are the Fiberwerx 3'' bulge bedsides... I kind of wish they were a little wider but Im trying to get a pair off offerup and they're the 6'' bulge.

There's a Tundy axle on CL right now for $200 but it's drum brakes and LSD diff... not sure if that's what I want. Need to do more reading/research... everything I do has to be budget friendly though so....

    ...too much shit to list.
The Tundra LSD sucks. I threw mine in the trash and replaced it with an ARB. All first gen tundra/t100 axles are going to have drums. They work absolutely fine for the size of a Tacoma.

Ok guys... my girl is sick!!! Long story short over the last few months I have replaced the battery and alternator both twice. Optima red top is brand new about 10 days old and the alternator is brand new (reman) as of this weekend. For some reason the battery light is coming on in the truck and clearly the alternator is not charging the battery. No fuses are blown... 80 amp ALT fuse is good... Terminal posts are clean and no rust exists... seemingly good connection at the posts... I don't believe I have any ground issues. I have never had ALT or charging problems with this truck and this kind of started out of nowhere... any suggestions as to what this could be? I'm going to open the fuse box and make sure the gold nut is tight where the the fusible link comes into the 80 amp ALT fuse... other than that IM STUMPED and I really dont want to take this to an electrician and get BENT OVER...

I haven't even had the truck in the dirt yet. Got the kit installed and drove the truck to work every day last week with no issues. Took the truck up to Northern AZ on Friday and when I got to Prescott the battery light came on and the truck was out of power. Had to charge the battery from another vehicle to get it back to Phoenix. Again, ALT is brand new as of Saturday and that didn't help... Can't figure out why the battery isn't getting a charge.

Probably everything the electrician is going to do anyway:

If none of these works, the lt kit is probably the issue and should be removed immediately - if you need to unload it, I'm your man ;)

I would cut back insulation to your battery terminals, and look for corrosion in the wire strands. That will cause high resistance and a loss of voltage. Same should go for any body grouds, engine grounds, or frame grounds

Update: Battery doesn't seem to want to charge past 12.20. Did the draw test and it's where it should be if I'm understanding right... between .3 - .5 as the guy says. Need to test the alternator. I just dont understand unless Vatozone is the worst on earth... I've never experienced this before with brand new alternator and battery not working/charging... Thanks again guys!

Starting to think this is the culprit.

Battery holds a charge and nothing is drawing from the battery when the truck is off. I turned truck on and did the alternator test and nothing is recharging the battery.... brand new alternator... leads me to believe it's either a charge cable or ground. I might just take it in. Trying to decide if I want to keep at this. I was supposed to be going down to Mechico in about a week so I have to shit or get off the pot....

Update: Got the truck running. In the end it was the positive charge cable from battery to alternator. I did one third of the "big 3" upgrade and that fixed the issue.

End notes: Battery was holding charge. Draw on the battery with the truck turned off and key out of ignition was .03 or 30 miliamps which is supposed to be within the acceptable area for draw. Checked and cleaned grounds. Upgrade charge cable from positive on the battery to the alternator. Used 4 awg cable.

Now to get the limit straps installed so I can beat on this thing a little down in MECHICO next weekend...
