INTAKE SILENCER RIPOUT - or something like that. I got all the choice stuff to plumb the vac lines back in from having done it before. My feeling is it basically gives you a straight intake pipe without vortexes of air that confuse laminar flow and without having to put some shiny chrome thing in there that costs a lot of money. Anyway I can hear my engine a little when I step on the gas and it seems to have better throttle response. Plus I can hear how it revs thru the power band and guess at it's needs better.

I never heard it called an ISR mod. Learn something new everyday. I pieced it together off ebay and Amazon. It was about $70 total. I posted all the info. Let me try to find it.

I really just followed all the cheap high-school tech mods on my old salvage rig. I wanted to see if I noticed any perceptible gains, but thought about getting a smooth pipe intake after sensing this helped with airflow and sound. There's still some accordion pleats in there near the air-box though bro, whatup?

The pleats are larger then the tube on the inside so no restriction. I didn't notice to much.

Would be interesting to compare on the butt dyno between the chrome pipe and the stock with plumbing caps/reducers/barbs and whatnot. I'm gonna swap my deckplated airbox into my new rig to test it in some similar fashion.

I guess the advantage however slight would be you don't have all those crevices and such with the pleats of the old air pipe.

On a side note. I saw a build where that brake booster line on the front of the intake was plugged into the throttle body at the pcv connection. The pcv vented to outside. My feeling is maybe the pcv on these engines is a source of intake contamination and maybe should be vented.

gotcha man, I'm down with aluminum, have a yj with that theme in mind - it's not chromed, it's bare aluminum - wire wheeled road-signs for body panels in fact where there wasn't any real metal due to rust. I'll check out that link, this truck's probably worth doing things that work correctly.

Ah... So many questions. Is that your '96. what is all that stuff next to the cruise module. Is the hose that goes from the intake to the brake booster the one going down behind the PS reservoir in the pic.
