Ahh good point I guess what I can't fit inside the vault or cab would need to go into the bed.

Yes sir. Also, the vault adds height to the base of the bed.

Then if you throw in a mattress on top of the vault, it adds additional height

I've had one for a long time. It's all personal future plans to use. I lived in mine for 40 days when my house was up for sale. I've camped 200 nights (at least). It's held up amazingly well and was worth the purchase. Similar to MT Girl, the only con is you're basically on lock down when it's deployed. It takes about 3 minutes to fold it up though. I've bought $400 ground tents that only lasted 2 seasons. But yes there is a lot of "fad' about camping and the outdoors in general. If it's something you like, do it!

All tents or just the pioneer ones?

I saw a video on Facebook saying the pioneer series was going to start coming with a lot of extras and that there would be a price increase to accompany that. The extra goodies cost more than $200 so it's still a good deal.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm hoping that's the reason. Also, the Summit is unaffected because it already comes with that stuff.

Summit appears to have increased as well...at least for the Mt. Shasta Extended that I was looking at.

I just checked the tent I was ordering and thinking of upgrading to extended on the Mt shasta summit but both went up 200.

Well there goes the upgrade possibility. Might even put it out of budget.

I think because now they only make tents with the stargazer option which they used to charge $200 for. Now the option is built into the rain fly. I think this change was made in the last week. I was going to buy it anyways because you get the extra light in the day and fresh air.

I just don't know if I should go Pioneer for the weight savings or Summit for all the bonus features, ladder and durability.

You're right. They did raise it another 200 and cut their non star gazer option. Let's find out, because we already committed to that price.

I may be out if they stick with that increase.

When I priced it, there wasn't an up-charge for the stargazer option. I added everything to my cart, then copy and pasted it here as my selection.

Hopefully they can give us an explanation. Lol staring at the stars in your tent knowing it cost you $200 more is going to dampen the experience!
