First real mod

Ok, I finally got around to doing something I've wanted to do for a while. I did the "move my turn signals to the corners and made my original turns signals into fog lights" mod. Here are a few pics of how it came out.

what lights did you use for the fog lights

 

Thanks guys. I used what was suggested in this link - http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/tacoma_turn_signal/ - and did it like it says. I saved this from a thread from a few months back. The only PITA was getting the platic bits out of the housings. The way I made the old blinkers into fog lights was to tap off the green wire for the parking lights and run a wire to the "new" fog lights. Then I replaced the amber bulbs with clear ones. That idea I got from member Robb Solid in the thread where the link is from.

Yep, or at least done the combo units like they did on 4Runners.

 

so do the corners work as the blinkers now?

So are those fog lights always on when your lights are on though? Or did you set them to a seperate switch?

Looks just like mine. Good Job.

 

They are just hooked into the Parking lights so they are on whenever you turn the lights on. But you could easily hook a switch up to them.

 

yes. like slickyd said they are hooked into the parking lights. i preferred it that way over a seperate switch so that i never forget to turn them off.

couldnt you just swap both green wires and change the bulbs. then blinker power would default to corners and visa versa

 

awesome job, I have a deck plate and love it really opened my engine up.
