Any of you old enough to remember, this is the anniversary of the April 3rd 1974 tornado "super cell" outbreak. 148 tornados on that one day through the lower Midwest and the south. 85 deaths in Kentucky and Indiana alone. I was taking flying lessons at the time. My lesson got cancelled, so I went home. It hadn't started raining yet, so I took the tractor out and was plowing a field behind the house. My mom was standing on the back porch, waving to get my attention. She wanted me to come in because the TV stations were broadcasting tornado reports in the area. I thought she was just waving "hello"....I waved back! A few minutes later, I noticed this HUGE black cloud coming across the horizon. Decided to put the tractor in the barn and go inside. About that time it started raining. By the time I made the barn, the wind started blowing and I could see it was a tornado. It missed our place by a mile or so. The tornado I saw was responsible for 9 deaths. Several towns in the area were destroyed. Louisville got slammed. I spent the next day on a bulldozer that my dad owned, shoving debris off a county road a couple miles from home so they could get electric crews in to restore power. Quite an event for a 16 year old kid to be in the middle of....

I think Mother Nature is confused... while you guys are getting shitty weather, it is absolutely glorious here. Cold, but sunny. And the geese are back.

No, I meant the guy that created the Texas-Texas salsa. I know their whole family.
