Bilstien coilovers Toytec AAL w/fox 2.0's Sway bar relocate Carrier bearing drop ECGS needle bearing delete 285/75/16 Dick Cepek Extreme Country
So I just got my lift put on, parts included were:
    •5100's preassembled w/600lb coils
    •sway bar relocation
    • Toytec Long AAL w/fox 2.0's
    •Carrier bearing drop
(I have the diff drop, but people keep telling me to not put it on. I will if it improves the ride)
    IMG_4086.jpg
Along with this I have already done the ECGS needle bearing delete.

At first when the truck just had a pick budget level kit on the ride was a bit jarring since the E rated tires.

After the lift the ride has changed to be much less jarring, but I am getting allot of feedback from the front I think. At low speeds it eats up everything great. Highway speeds it's like I can feel every bump in the road

Is this a tell tale sign that I should get UCA's?
At times I'm shocked how nicely the truck takes a pot hole or washed out access road, but the on-road manners for the little stuff bounces me around.
    Thoughts for the noob?
    Thanks in advance.

I dont know much about your problem, I am curious about it though for when I get a lift. I wanted to say beautiful truck though, good job on it so far.

Thanks! I thought at first it was the rear, but after a couple days I'm positive it's the front end that's rougher than I'd like.
I made sure to ask the guys not to max out the adjustable shocks, so I don't think that's it.
Weird transfer of bumps to the body make me think UCA's, hopefully
someone with more expertise will chime in. I only think that because that was a big point made by Jeep JK guys make for the best ride, adjust UCA's with relocations brackets or get new ones.

I will change my UCA's when I get my lift. I have my eyes on the JBA HD UCA's (http://jbaoffroad.com/toyota/tacoma...r-upper-a-arms-for-2005-14-toyota-tacoma.html) with the Old Man Emu BP-51 kit.

If you feel every bump, it's probably your tires or you're too pre-loaded on your shocks.

x2. What PSI are you running OP? With load Es, run them around 34-36 or so. Also a diff drop does absolutely nothing in terms of ride quality. All it does is help your CV angles. You should still keep it on, but now you know what it does.

Try experimenting with tire pressure. Do a chalk test. If they're E rated and aired up to 45PSI, that could be your problem.

What lift setting are the 5100's at?

As a characteristic of the truck too you'll get a bouncy feeling from expansion joints on highways due to the resonance frequencies in the frame. You can dial some of that out with adjusting shock valving but without spending $$$ you're not going to get rid of it.

OME shocks ride a little softer than the 5100s so it might be worth your while to switch to those.

And from what I read, a single AAL.

Are the 5100s at least set at 0 to accommodate the new springs?

Also give it some time. First 100 miles or so I could feel all the little bumps on the road and now it's much smoother.

I'm not sure the alignment numbers. But the tires are 285/75/16 and the rims are 16x8. Not sure their offset.

I'm pretty new with this, how can I check? I had them installed so I'm not sure.

Get a pic of the shock body, the 5100 shaft has notches machined in it so that you can adjust the spring perch height.

i chalk tested my Cooper ST Maxx E tires, 265/65-17 after the installer put them at 40psi. even on a Pro suspension that was a brutal ride. the chalk test revealed that my cold pressures should be 30 front and 28 rear. they add 2-3psi as they warm up.

almost forgot to add that after dropping pressures for a clean chalk test, the ride went from brutally harsh to a total dream. that kinda clicked it in for me and the truck is just perfect to drive now, especially on the highway.
