and if I wreck enough to hit my forehead on the spinner, would that be any more injurious than hitting the wheel itself?

Because the proper mounting position is between 10 and 11 o'clock for a right handed person.

You can easily have accidents that will cause you to whack the steering wheel and not deploy air bags.

Like I said, they are not illegal, even in HI. I'd not worry too much about them interfering with airbag deployment, that's in the center of the wheel.

What I would be thoughtful of is having to stop and remove it every time I go off road. OTOH, if you aren't off roading today with your hands at 10 and 2, thumbs up on the wheel like your fingers, you're already at risk of not being able to clutch your fav beverage for a while.

Enjoy. I think I'll order a couple for gag gifts for buddies with sports cars......... hmmmm.

    You're now jinxed.

You'll be sitting still or barely moving, get rear ended or t-boned, and learn that reflexes don't always count.

"Suicide knobs" when I was a kid--most truckers had 'em but as others have said I believe they are now illegal in most jurisdictions...

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Literally don't even get how he keeps saying this is gonna hurt him with an airbag. What the living fuck?

Linky at the bottom of post 11 suggests otherwise.

The interwebz are good at spreading truth. And old wives tales. Both of them at the speed of light!

I think he means it can't hurt him because the airbag protects him.

He just doesn't realize you can have a heck of a wreck and the bags not deploy.

I'll just dream of one. I think I'd look so cool with it but not so cool with an imprint of it in my face.
