After connecting the scanerr it pulled up a few errors at the electrical system, the truck was not starting. they told me the solution would be buying this 2 replacement parts. my question is if both prices they gave me are ok or completely out of range?

Find a mechanic that can troubleshoot down to a single part instead of easter egging it.
Its a new truck, why ? You bought from overseas ?
I bet I could fix it for next to nothing.

I would do a little more diagnostics before spending that kind of money. I mean hell, I can fix any vehicle by replacing the wiring harness and engine and possibly transmission depending on customer complaint, but is it logical? Not at all.
Find someone that can dig further into the issue first.

For a complete engine wiring harnesses that's probably a reasonable price, but depending on the value of your time they are not hard to fix (as long as its a wiring problem and not connector problem), it just takes a ton of time and a few basic tools. Manufactures usually split engine harnesses up over several parts these days, since they are so complicated, so it surprises me that Toyota didn't.

A buddy had a squirrel eat the harness on his 2016 Tundra a while back. The harness for it was over $2,000, so $1,640 for a Taco sounds right to reasonable.

I was thinking he might need the harness due to the soy based wire insulation that mice/vermin view as fine dining.

I don't think anyone called it a scam or a lie. they were suggesting that it is a salvage hence the wiring damage. Do you know how the harness was damaged?

    Nice truck, btw.

Why was the Truck a Salvage in the first place?

Since it looks in good shape. Likely flood. Could have been stolen as well at one point. Sometimes insurance companies pay out for a vehicle if stolen thinking it will never be returned only for it to show back up despite being retitled.

Yes, it looks like it's in good shape. Sometimes people buy a Truck that was in a accident and get it repaired. I wonder if anything else is wrong with the Truck.

well, it was just a small hit at the front left wheel, ( just body damage), but the truck didin't started, so we did all the process (starting from the most basic things, from gas pump untill key re-coding, but we couldn't make the truck start, now we are going to change the complete engine wire harness, and also the ignition module , we'll see how it evolves. i hope we can make it run soon.
