Trenched close to 400 feet today, mostly for irrigation, some for conduit.

My dad and uncles had a landscape business for a long time. I grew up going to job sites after school and fitting pipes and spreading gravel and running equipment. We still own a full size, ride on Ditch Witch, but it's at my uncles house 45 miles away and the transport trailer needs 4 new tires. Was cheaper to rent the little one.

Cut the last glulam rafter today , all 21 cut , drilled for bolts and ready to go

Tomorrow I will cut the 2 glulam posts that go on the end of each 'wing' wall plus square up an end of each of the beams

Today we also predrilled through the double top plates at each beam location for 4 of the 3/8" x 8" GRK RSS screws that fix the rafters to the conventional framing

Got a confirmation tonight that the crane is on for Wed

Modified my headache rack / sideboard unit with a couple of "ears" to hold 20' sticks of pipe. Worked well enough for the 20 mile ride home on the freeway.

That's me currently. Lived here since 2011 and haven't really done to much to the house. But this year with the gf getting closer to moving in and a new dog its going to be an expensive year. Fix drainage in the backyard, then fence it in, kennel in backyard for the pup, new floors for the house, regravel driveway which is probably going to involve some landscaping at the same time, and cleaning/possibly repainting the deck

We're on a similar plan. Long to-do list, just knocking each one off as I/we can. This years rain did a number on our dirt drive. Needs a new culvert pipe, graded and gravel.
Goat shed is up, but I've got to run fence now... well house needs painting. And deck needs a re-do (take off all deck boards, reinstall with proper spacing, and then we want to apply a Rustoleum Deck Restore 4x coat (or something similar). And replace the deck railing. (Holy crap, list is getting longer!)

Today's shit mess... making and installing cabinets in the laundry.

Former kitchen upper cabinets, painted the face frames. Lined with peel-n-stick tile I had left over from another project.
The bitch was that I wanted to install them as one piece to insure they were level. Had to install the cleats on the back after they were in the space, otherwise they were a 1/4" too wide to fit thru the space. I won't ever do that again. What a PITA!!

Waiting on the husband to get home. Just have to lift them into place, too heavy by myself.

I feel you on that. Ive got a list of probably 15 things to do just on the fridge list. Then everything else i mentioned. Add to that a busy time at work (lots of 13 hours days dont leave much time) and well Ill just do what I can :) Last night was actually the first night in close to a month I stayed up past 8 lol.

On another note apparently landscaping and/or site prep is an incredibly hot market right now. Out of probably 40 companies Ive contacted over the last 2-3 weeks, probably half showed no interest in my project and referred me elsewhere (which is understandable as they might not have the equipment), 90% of the remaining just said too busy/not interested. Then the last couple who did show interest have been difficult to progress in getting a bid/even getting them to show that they want the job. Thankfully the one that has shown interest and followed up has great reviews and provided some references for me which i did "dry bys" of and the work looked good.

Got the beams squared up for tomorrow , cut the glulam wing wall posts and stood those by hand and fastened them to the wing shear walls with 6" SDS screws on 16" centres through the framing into the posts

Are the Glulam stuff not going to be visible? I guess I thought with all the work you did with the rafters and how nice they look that they would be visible? I honestly have no idea on half of what you have done :)

Yea I moved in almost 2 years ago and pretty much renovated the whole house: kitchen, 2 bathrooms, laminate floors, remove popcorn ceiling, paint, dual pane windows, tank-less water heater, new fireplace, and the list goes on. Also fixed up the garage a little and have been able to host some pretty big TW mod days at the house (35+ trucks)

I'm currently changing all interior doors to 6 panel doors, but next time I do a cool project I'll post on here lol
