@gearcruncher is it me or does the pilot on that torque converter look weird?

Did this truck ever have a manual trans in it? Or crankshaft replaced ie: new motor? Looks like a clutch pilot bearing/bushings spun on end of tourque converter pilot.

Did the converter slide forward easily to met up with flex plate? The converter bosses were the bolts go in was there a gap between them and flex plate? Requiring the bolts to pull it closed?

Cylinder Position Sensor? Camshaft Position Sensor? Crankshaft Position Sensor? If you mean Crank Sensor, the correct term you are looking for is CKP. Not a personal attack on you bud just trying to clean any possibility of misinterpretation up. :)

This would be the second thread I have stumbled across (recently) where the flexplate is giving a first gen auto issues. I just read through the whole thread and I am happy to see that you managed to figure it out and get it patched up OP!

Nice. My big block did the same. I upgraded my flex plate.

Everything came together pretty easily. The bellhousing bumped up right against the block. The tc met up with the flexplate pretty easily too.

I bought the truck about 6 months ago, and to my knowledge, there hasn't been any replacements to crankshaft or motor.

Did some more digging. It looks okay compared to what info I can find.
