F150 Supercrew or Tacoma double cab????

I sold my Tacoma last year and bought a 2010 F150 Supercrew 4x4 with a 4.6 3V v-8. Loved the ride, room and power of the F150 but I was just not quite satisfied and felt as though I was driving a farm tank. I could never find a big enough parking space and getting around in shopping mall lots was hazardous. I sold it a few weeks ago and bought another Tacoma (2010 Double Cab TRD Sport 4x4). What a world of difference! I fill like I am driving a sardine box and the inside comfort is no comparison to the F150. I really think I can put this truck inside the cab of an F150 Supercrew! I am having serious buyers remorse and hope it will go away. I lost $4500 in about a month when I sold the F150. I got 21 mpg on the hwy with tons of power to spare. I got about 14 in the city. Now to the Tacoma......I get the same OR WORSE mpg than the F150! What's the deal?? Why give up all that comes with the F150 for a small truck that appears to have ZERO advantages to a larger truck. Please someone insure me that I made the right decision, especially with all the recall crap.

 

It sounds like you have made some very poor decisions from the get go. Did you drive the Tacoma before you bought one? Did you do any research before spending $30k+ two times?

Wait, you went from an '09 Tacoma into a '10 F-150 and then back to a '10 Tacoma? Someone's trolling.

 

No trolling, or whatever that is, here. Yes I did go from a 2010 f150 to a 2010 tacoma. And yes this is my second tacoma.

 

I understand what you are going through. I traded in my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 for '09 Civic Si. Way too small. that was like 9 months ago. One thing I learned is the build quality is way better on the Jap stuff. I have a 2010 4x4 TRD off road wJBL on order to get back in a truck. The media is just busting on Toyota for no reason. They all have problems. I just cant justify buying a American product ever again.

 

i feel your pain. I sold my 2006 dodge ram diesel and bought the same tacoma as you. If toyota doesn't come out with a supercharger soon i will be pissed. I'm happy with the "sardine" feeling for a DD. Every time i take a trip to the mountains i miss my bug truck.

I will tell you it the pain will go away day by day.

The main advantage is size (footprint) that was a big deal for me. Now I can park anywhere and get my car in the garage. The power of the taco is a joke and i wish it held a load a little better. I'm not an MPG guy so that doesn't bother me.

 

Yeah...You sound like you have no clue what you want. I am sure you have buyer remorse...it's hard to not regret buying whatever random ass 25K truck pops into your head and then selling it months later at a loss....

Yeah a lot of folks don't realize that the recall is powered mainly by politics. The US has stakes in GM and Chrysler so go figure why they want to hurt the most reliable maker of autos and give more business to US auto makers. Besides, the defective part in question of the Toyota recall was made right here in the good old USA! Remember the old Toyota trucks with the 22RE engines that would go forever? Remember the bed would be the only part that would rust? Well guess what, the bed back then was the only thing made in the US because those trucks would be shipped from Japan without the beds so that they could stack more on the ships. It's a shame that our crap over here is so screwed up.

 

Only because the post is based on a totally illogical scenario. From what I am understanding OP had an '09 Tacoma per the vehicle description that is listed in the Avatar section. Then the OP sells the Tacoma and buys a '10 F-150 but then trades it for a '10 Tacoma-and is making comparison complaints about it even though the OP already owned one.

I don't know what world you live in but my Tacoma gets much more mpg than any fucking F150 could ever dream of.

 

make up your mind want you want you already had a tacoma so why are you suprised??? if you wanted a bigger truck then stick with the f150 if you cant handle driving that big a truck then stick with the tacoma. maybe you should do a little research before buying a vehicle next time

Yeah, I know, I have not posted a lot of stuff because I found better use of my time than to stay on here like Face Book junkies. However I do rely on reliable, non-sarcastic feedback from owners on here. So in a nutshell if you can't be helpful, courteous and non-sarcastic please just pass my entry over.

 

its expected that the tacoma will be smaller that the f150 should have switched to the tundra if your gonna compare the two trucks i love my tacoma and had an f150 before but they both have there pros and cons don't think i will be goin back to a ford after my tacoma

 

here is my honest advice. keep the toyota. if you go thru the rotation again, you will lose even more money. the tacoma is a fantastic truck. you will get comfy with the (smaller) size soon. especially when you parallel park that thing the first time. my 06 got 23 mpg on a roadtrip to AZ. admittedly, i am nursing my driving record back to health, and was not speeding. nursing the fuel actually.

i go back and forth daily between my tacoma, and my chevy silverado worktruck. the silverado has power, taut confidence inspiring brakes, and is big as a boat. u-turn like ass, and i cant back it up confidently into a parking space without getting out occasionally to suss it out. tacoma is mine, paid off, parks easy..smaller for the city, fits in every damn underground parking lot..has the imminent danger of lunging uncontrollably into a bridge pier..(I JOKE!)

What were your reasons for the buying the Ford. In bed camper, 5th wheel, towing a boat?

If not the DC Tacoma I'm sure will suit your needs fine.

My main reason at the time was just interior room. I could let the front seats all the way back and still not touch the back of the seats while seating in the back seats. Never will pull a boat or anything larger than a 5x8 mulch trailer. Ford also had a $5000 rebate at the time so I basically got it for what a Tacoma listed for. I really loved the ride, room, and safety of it, its just that I could barely fit it in my garage and getting around anywhere other than the hwy was a pain in the ass because of its size. I would have to use two parking spaces most of the time because of the length.
