Ah good to know. I hope it works out. I am at 11000 km / 6800~ miles now and couldn't be much happier with my truck. After reading your thoughts on the lift I think the TRD Pro 4 runner rims + Duratracs/Wildpeaks and the lift are my next things on my list.

 

Smitty99 I guess that's another issue for your truck. Drivers and passengers cv axels not the same length but the parts list says they should be.

Sorry to hear yours didn't include the output shaft to allow them to be the same length.

Bushing is already on passenger side, needle drivers side only.

Sorry to call you out on this, but misinformation should be corrected.

 

Installed the Toytec boss 2.0 on my sons TRD OR 4x4 DCSB last week and it rides great, I'm going the same route. We used blocks for the back to keep the ride as close to stock. Many will say that blocks will make the ride harsh and that is false, ask any reputable shop. AAL will give you more load capability but a stiffer ride than blocks (still good for many). We maintained the stock rake of 1 inch so I think that helps as well. We don't off road much, mostly daily driving so ride was the priority when lifting and to be able to fit bigger tires.With the lift kit it has the diff drop kit to help eliminate any bearing issues which his did not have after installation. $.02

 

Not all trucks are the same. I gained exactly 2" and my alignment is not perfect. Will see how the rubber is doing. I might need UCAs.

 

Curious what makes you think you need UCAs? What specifically is wrong with your alignment?

 

Yeah that's right I received bad info from a tech when we were discussing the issue with this bearing and why it fails. It's actually due to the slop in the way the spider gear and carrier are designed. The drivers side is the problem because it has a needle bearing and the passenger side has a bushing. Why they put the needle bearing which is prone to failure on the drivers side, is another discussion I guess.

 

I don't need it. I might need it. I have a positive camber. Will see if it will chew my tire.

 

Yea UCAs help adjust Caster, which could allow the Camber to be set to a better degree?

 

According to the alignment guy aftermarket UCAS will help to change camber. They lied? I'm at 0.38 camber Right now. I hope I don't need them and they are just trying to make some money on me.

 

I'm far from an expert... If they say it, I'd tend to believe them. However like with any costly modification: trust but verify. Might want a second opinion from UCA manufacturers and bounce specs of your truck, lift, tires/wheels off of them too.

 

Same here . Don't want to spend money on something that is not really a necessity or even make things worse.

 

I've had to make several trips to Firestone to get them to put my alignment in spec. First time I went they didn't touch my LCAs and so caster was not adjusted to within spec (I think they rushed the job because they did say they were down a tech that day)... second time I went to another firestone and had them fix the caster but then my camber was slightly out of spec. We are talking small amounts as far as deviation from spec but what this all says to me is that nobody really cares about doing the job very thoroughly which is why I am glad I did the lift myself (with much written guidance from some helpful members here).

 

That's why I'm just wait for a bit and let all the components settle and see how my tires are doing aswell. I just put the lift in 2 weeks ago ( did it myself too). And that was fun but I don't want to do anything for awhile ( Took me almost all day with no breaks).

 

I agree that TW is priceless. Without it I would probably pay triple price and still won't be happy.
