    Curt hitch wiring harness 55513
Curt 4-Way Flat Mounting Bracket 58300
Curt 4-Way Flat Dust Cap 58200

These probably aren't the right part numbers, because they were for my '13. However, it does show the parts you'll need, a brand you can use. Websites like eTrailer will get you the right P/Ns for your truck, then you can cross shop Amazon, eBay, etc.

Yes for that smaller engine it will be. The good news is that you don't have to worry about cooking your fluid in the manual. Instead you have to worry about cooking your clutch. If you drive it right though you should be fine.

It's 4 hours from where I live. I would like to get it here and hoping to use it for events like weddings and parties. So hopefully every weekend? I may want to use it for camping this summer. So I will be towing frequently

I would try and figure out the weight of it. You don't want to be towing at near max capacity all the time, because that'll wear your truck out a bit faster, especially with it being 19 years old.

That looks doable. It would help tremendously to go all out on the hitch setup (equalizers and sway control for cross winds, your going to feel them in a small truck) and utilize brakes on the trailer if at all possible.

EDIT: When you pick up the trailer your going to get a feel for what's needed. The truck is capable enough, it's a matter of how complicated your willing to make the hook-up. Those bars are added time to every occasion you grab it and let go of it.
A full size truck would never feel it back there.

I went to the trailer site they said it's 1600. So the maximum weight i can pull is 3500?

Crux that's good to know. So if I take it to a Toyota dealership will they be able to do this or would I be better off finding and independent mechanic?

3500 fully loaded (in bed and trailer). but honestly I wouldn't get near that. make an inventory of what you will be packing and then add the trailer weight in. that little 2.4 is going to get some use!

You'd likely be better off finding an independent mechanic. See if there's a trailer store around that can get you all hooked up to tow it.

You should have a 2.7 4 banger in that truck. Tow rating will be 3500 lbs. You will need a 2" class III receiver hitch, plug n play wiring kit for the taillights to get the 4 flat connection for the trailer to connect to. A 2" tow bar and a hitch ball in whatever size the trailer uses. That should be everything you need.

As far as I've ever seen the 2.4 4 banger only came in regular cab trucks not the extended cab flavors.

    That's awesome.

Remember that the total weight for towing includes the trailer, what's packed inside of it and the cargo weight of your truck.

    btw - welcome to TW

    it's a 2.4. I had one. '98. ext-cab.
I pulled small cars on dollies though. prob. 2000+ lbs. It really didn't have a prob. with the weight but they weren't catching a lot of cross wind. It's a much bigger concern with campers more than weight.

    @Athella

Also remember the towing capability is important but far more important is your braking capability when towing a lot of weight. Your braking distance increases significantly.

Make sure your brake components are up to snuff.
