    That is an excessive amount of axle wrap- on the street with normal driving! Makes me think it needs better rear leaf springs as well- or a great big traction bar like this one;

    http://www.4xinnovations.com/2005-2015-Tacoma-Traction-Bar-Set_p_35.html

    Looks like that would stop the axle wrap- but I am sure that would transfer even more vibrations into the cab.

    I got home late last night and hoped to throw in the shaft so I could drive to work but 4" shaft contacts carrier bearing brackets even at ride height so I have to cut those out tonight.

    Did you guys running a 4" get away with just cutting the drop down brackets or did you remove the entire cross brace?

    Just ordered a single piece driveshaft with double cardan joint for my 06 access cab from Tom Woods. I ordered the 4" diameter as I might want to regear and put 35s on in the future and there were no negative effects on my current setup (33's and 3.73 gears) by using the 4" per Shawn at TW. It is $100 more for the 4" shaft vs. the 3.5" shaft. Total price was $579 shipped.

    My Access Cab has the same measurements as a double cab short bed, which are:
    C1) 2.589"
    C2) 2.589"
    Overall flange to flange length was 67.5" measured at the 3 and 9 o'clock position.
    I am also using Spicer 5001905 Flanges (number is cast into the flange), so I verified my measurements with the replacement flange in the first post.

    I have an Icon progressive add a leaf on aal springs producing 1.5" of lift over stock. I am not currently running shims and will try the shaft without them and see if I still have any sort of vibes. If I do, then I might have to add shims.

    Will ship out tomorrow and I should have it by next Wednesday.

    I had no idea there was that much pinion movement. And that's not even going WOT from a stop. That's about 40% throttle. I'd encourage you to shoot some video with your own vehicle. I'd be willing to bet there's more going on down there than you realize. It was a surprise to me for sure.
    PS: I'm running the OME Dakar leaf pack...so it's not like I'm running a crappy leaf setup. :(

    Wow- that is with OME Dakar leaf packs! Can't imagine the wrap on my stock leafs!

    Sounds like I might have to invest in a GoPro to diagnose the problems.

    Mine is under the certified pre-owned 1year drivetrain warranty so I will let the dealer keep replacing parts for now.
    So far;
    -new rear tires
    -complete new drive shaft with new carrier bearing
    Next;
    -new front tires
    -transmission mount
    -transmission reflash

    Yup, Troy over there has been in contact with me throughout the whole thing. They received the driveshaft on Friday afternoon but didn't have time to get to it. Yesterday they ran it up on the machine and found a bit of run out so re-balanced it with a different weight configuration and shipped it out same day. I'll have it tomorrow.

    If the vibration is still there they said no problems returning it and they'd offer a refund.

    Absolutely top notch customer service.

    Really curious if they will make a 2wd length shaft, will all the measurements be the same except for a flange to flange measurement?

    I wasn't planning on doing the 4" I was going to go with the same setup as OP, just for 2wd. Anybody know what the length of a 2wd DCSB shaft is?

    Don't ever really plan on 35's, or regear. It was mentioned in this thread that they won't make a 2wd length driveshaft and I just wanted to see if anybody had an experience with them that proved otherwise.

    I cut in a place so welding the piece back in will be easy. I've done quite a bit of fabrication work through the years so it's a fairly easy job for me.

    That's what I figured was your answer. Have a picture of the cut part?

    Stock....ish
    Could be a dumb question but why not have the shaft made with a thinker gauge tube and same size as stock vs going to a 4in diameter tube?
