Hey you're the one that thinks its ok for trucks to perform this way. No wonder you are in the 3rd gen section.

The reality is you have the straw man argument, I stated that diesels have issues and then you decided to say they don't by giving examples of said issues...Irony.

All I said was that a modern Diesel won't have early life problems, it will operate fine, if you allow the truck to reach optimum temperatures for the regen cycle to work to clean out the emissions system. Your article then confirmed exactly what I said. I never made a mention about the EGR cycle effecting power in my original statement because that has nothing to do with the longevity of the truck. It has to do with the owners preference. Most light truck owners will never notice a truck go into a regen cycle unless they are under conditions that require the engine to put out greater than 60% load, which is usually only during towing uphill. Even then it's a fluke for the regen cycle to line up with that situation for most drivers.

Now if you want to keep pointing and calling me wrong go ahead. It's really making you look like you need to stop listening to what your dad tells you and learn how these systems work. Your dad bypassed his emissions equipment to chip his truck and put out more power. That's it. He's voided his warranty like i said, if he still had one like the situation I mentioned, and if he runs bad fuel that fowls an injector you are going to hear a lot more fun words come out of his mouth. He definately won't blame what he did to his truck though .

I'm out man. This kid can keep learning from dad all about what to do to his truck. When it ends up costing him because he wouldn't listen to a couple of people with real world experience beyond one work truck he can have fun with that.

Good Riddance, I have about a dozen more examples, multiple friends who are diesel mechanics, multiple ownership of diesels, etc etc. How ignorant can you get.

Cool, so what you are saying is that your story has nothing to do with someone buying a brand new Diesel Colorado? Thanks for playing.

We aren't talking about the Colorado, we are talking about diesels working "fine." Try to keep up. After seeing so many issues with diesels across the board, across multiple manufacturers, ther eis no way in hell I would buy a modern diesel.

It's not quite up to @DCSBFTMFM 's level of sewering though. Did the 4Runner make him soft? Yes, pun intended :p

And the recent discussion was about the Colorado ZR2 diesel edition that Smitty and another member will be looking at.

OK.....just so I'm clear, your reporting things in this thread, yet you throw the "asshole" comment, and your "real world" example is basically hearsay from your dad?
