^ this guy knows what I'm talking about.

Because we're basically the same height. Not because of experience with me.

    Ok maybe both

    Because big.

And possibly hairy. I saw your other pics. Need to take care of that bro.
I'm sporting hams and quads as smooth as my freshly clay bared super white tacoma.

And as white... but it's been winter so you know that's ok.

Lol. You hear that, @Newlife?! My quads are big!

I shave my chest occasionally and my arms a few times a week, but I can't do my legs. I'd have to go down to the ankle because if I didn't it'd look like I had on black knee-high socks.

Can I ask a legit workout question here? I mean I don't want to screw up the roid rage vibes and all.

What do you guys do for warm ups?

I don't really warm up. I do on leg days with basically 6 minutes on the elliptical (3 mins going forward, 3 minutes in reverse). I've never had an issue with not doing a dedicated warm up routine. I don't feel as if I'm straining or over working anything. I don't feel as if any part of me is tight either.

If anyone is familiar, I do Wendler's 5/3/1. So I focus on a main lift each day (one of the main 5) and gradually build up to a heavier weight with each set then I move onto some accessory lifts afterwords.

I've never started to lift something and felt like it was too heavy and I wasn't mentally and physically prepared to lift the weight I am. Issue with this?

That's not what this thread is for...

    jk

I don't do much for warm ups. Doing cardio before weights is pointless. Your body has a switch for either cardio or weights. If you walk on the gym and start doing cardio your body flips the cardio switch and it can't turn it off when you start doing weights. You need to pick one or the other for that workout...

As for moving up in weights. I usually start any lift at 135 for 6-10 then move up gradually until I'm at my working weights.

I think this is why I have mentally excluded myself from the "need to warm up" group. The weights I am lifting right now are relatively minimal. For example my training max on squat is 165. It's low because of previous injury. For me to "warm up" with lower sets I'm basically going to be doing body weight squats lol and I guess I just devalue that as a warm up (maybe I shouldn't be).

Same with most of my other weights, with the exception of my bench. I pay a little more attention a warm up set since that lift is higher than the others in relation to where my lifts were prior to injury (which I consider a more "normal" lift range).

I have a pretty serious question too. Those that lift first thing in the AM...I made the switch a month ago.

I know there are some posts way back about it, but what are you all eating before workout and how much time are you giving yourself before drinking pre workout if you do.

All my strength numbers are still there except squat. My numbers are plummeting. No energy. Feel like I'm gonna yak my breakfast up.

Oh and a gainz pic...slightly above parallel with 425.

I recently switched what I was doing. I get to the gym around 6am in the morning. I drink a cup of coffee after I get up (my pre-workout) and then I used to eat some form of eggs. I always ended up starving to death once I got to work at 830-9 regardless of what or how much I ate before my workouts. So I said screw it and I just make a much bigger meal to have once I get to work. I've noticed no performance differences when not eating prior to my workouts. But I tend to like working out fasted, and especially before I have any carbs that day. I just feel better.

I would try not eating prior to hitting the gym, see how you do.

Also try getting 8-9 hours of sleep per night. Eliminates the need for pre-workout.
