I'm going to pick a weekend this summer to plan this. Location will be TBA, since a lot of stuff might still be closed, but at least we can block out our calendars

I'd be interested in anything camping and drinking related.

    Oof...tough call.

What are we talking? Blantons Single Barrel or Strait from the Barrel? And Eagle Rare Single, or 17?

Never had it right out of the barrel, come to think of it haven't had it in quite some time regardless. It's getting tougher to get my hands on it even being in the industry.

As far as the Eagle Rare, I'd take the 17 over the single barrel any day, but that's not to say I don't enjoy the single barrel. 17 is a little more mellow on the finish and I don't find it so dry.

If I really want to light my junk on fire it's Laphroaig 10 year Cask Strength, but that doesn't usually go over to well with the masses. I also like Coors Light.:anonymous:

You're right, we might be related.

LOL. Totally agree on all points. But it's really hard to argue the price point on the Eagle Rare Single Barrel. Almost half the cost of Blanton's.

Yup, a handle of Eagle is cheaper than a 5th of Blantons IIRC. More than double the fun! I'll let you know if anything good/allocated/special gets shipped up to Tahoe.

I mean you could. Might be a pricey whiskey and coke. The Laphroaig might make it taste like you've been soaking your coke in a sweaty leather boot for a week, but it'll sure get you dancing on the picnic tables.

Camping and whiskey are going to be my best friends this summer. Still need to find some Eagle Rare though.

A trip is becoming a thing, but this particular spot is only available if @JLee arranges it and based on the last trip, large groups are not preferred by the locals. We only had about 7 trucks there and had some unhappy feelings by the locals.
