Yes, I've got the same doors but you are still vulnerable via the exterior attachment screws. I replaced those fasteners with Bryce Fasteners items:

Could anybody tell me whether a 2015 RAV4 side mirrors on the doors are compatible or not with our 2016's?

 

Nope. Doesn't hinder operation in any way.

Is there a big tailgate theft problem? I've had a lot of toyotas and other trucks over the years and never had a tailgate stolen or even heard of anyone having their tailgate ripped off? Is there a thriving tailgate black market that I'm unaware of? I can see wanting to have it locked to prevent cargo theft or if you have a canopy.

 

I don't have a source, but I've heard that tailgates are the most commonly stolen item. They're very easy to remove and can simply be scrapped for the metal

Can take all the credit, someone in the recent past mentioned it kind of in passing and when I did it, I thought it was definitely worth posting up again easiest mod that cost no money. I remember one of my Tacoma's I think back in the nineties I drove around for months with that truck never realizing I had an additional cup holder that was right in front of me that pulled out of the dash. Then one day someone was riding with me and said, cool you have cup holders here and pulled it out and I was like okay I guess I do!

 

Down here the saying is "lock it or lose it." So many truck tailgates are stolen that it isn't unheard of for a body shop to "accidentally" buy your own tailgate back from whoever stole it. Normally it's on full size trucks because that's what construction contractors tend to use (and they go through tailgates), but plenty of Frontiers and Tacomas get their gates stolen too.

The hose clamp mod, pop-a-lock, and other tailgate anti-theft devices are quite popular in Texas. I've heard it's even worse in Florida, Georgia, and California.

 

These are the ones I got about a year ago. I love the look of the original OEM decals but all in black. But there are many other designs on ebay.

Got the Hondo Garage phone mount installed. My phone had been falling constantly in between the seats. So this was a life saver.

Well I appreciate you bringing it up recently, I remember the same thing with one of my toyotas and the pull out cup holders!! Lol

 

Simple lift. 5100s front and back. 887 coils and AAL. I got new LR UCA but have not put them on yet.

Thanks that's good to know, I think I may install the pop a lock or I see there is also an OEM part from toyota when installed that locks your tailgate at the same time you lock your doors with the key fob, has anyone installed the OEM version? If so any helpful hints?

 

Those look like stock tires, were you experiencing any rubbing before the lift?
