What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I was actually thinking of doing this swap lol.
My wife has a 2016 RAV4 and I prefer her mirrors better(smaller, sleeker turn signal, etc). I measured both and unfortunately it doesn't look like they will fit. The base where it mounts to the door has a different foot print and shape. I do know the glass in interchangeable, but that's it.

 

No rubbing before. I'm getting to up my size though.

 

No such thing. They just resell pop n locks.

 

Must be a combo of Duratracs and my amor causing a bit of sagging because I have been experiencing some minor rubbing.

What size are you going to?

 

Debating between 285 and 275. I'm leaning to the 275 though. I figure some minor rubbing there that I'll have to trim. Where are you rubbing? Perhaps you just need a different alignment.

 

I found this spot so far, but have yet to do anything about it. This is looks excessive trying to replicate, but it has happened a couple times pulling into driveways and just yesterday as I crested a hill while turning.

 

So this is the same as a pop a lock ??

Backed into a shrub at Starbucks, got the Tailgate in 3 places.

do you have any lift at all? I did have 5100s with stock coils set at 1.1 before and never had any rubbing.

 

Ahhh I see, I am on all stock suspension.

I feel your pain but worse, black is such a pain.
spent the weekend doing loads of branches to the chippers and somehow scratched the tailgate from left to right in two spots, deep too.

That's what a tech at my dealership told me last week, yes. I haven't looked into it further than that though.

 

What AAL did you go with?
What's your hub to fender measurements from front and rear?

 

I went with the Deaver single AAL. I never took any measurements.

Yep, "all gates were open" per passing traffic. We entered in Corona, hit the peak and exited at Maple Creek. Fun 3 hour tour with only mild obstacles. That was our first time up there, looking forward to going back !

 

Good to hear! I've always had buck luck with the gates being closed at the top even when they were supposed to be opened.
